So let's start by saying that the area is of course pastoral, green and spectacular but it is not really unique.
The beautiful, clean and comfortable house is not the point either (although I have to mention the small refrigerator in the room which is something you don’t usually find in almost any B&B in Scotland).
Well the special thing of this place is definitely JANE.
From the first moment we got in we felt at home . We received everything we wished for and far beyond, and all with a broad smile and with so much care that showed us that we are welcome and wanted and not just as customers.
She offered us a cup of any style coffee or tea anytime she saw us , small treats that await you in the room every day and other gestures that you won’t get anywhere else…
You return from a long day of hiking and there is Jane, waiting for you with a hot Cappuccino and a piece of cake, asking you about your day…
And a word about the breakfast…oh-my-god. This woman definitely knows what she's doing...breakfast is a special experience by itself. Whatever we chose from the rich menu, we loved : if it's a rich bowl of fresh cut fruits , eggs in an impressive variety, hot drinks on a different quality level and much more, everything is very tasty and beautifully served.
In short, do yourself a favor and grab a room at this place.Tthere are many beautiful rooms. But you won't find Jane anywhere else…

Our host Angie was fantastic. I arrived with a medical issue, and she quickly provided me with ice at my request. Our room was terrific and location absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was varied and made fresh to order.

The location was amazing with very nice pastoral views and close to the primary sites around Dunvegan, Fairy Pool and town. Breakfast was amazing too. Fresh baked breads as well as cookies and Catarina even makes her own delicious organic granola.

We loved Carters Rest and look forward to returning someday! Jonathan and Simone were gracious hosts with impeccable eyes for details. The B&B was very comfortable! We enjoyed relaxing and socializing with other guests in the dining/living area. The food was spectacular as were the samplings of local whiskeys! We ate our dinners here as well as breakfast. The meals were truly gourmet and delicious. The room was comfy and the accommodations overall were 5-star! We were within an hour’s drive of many interesting attractions on the Isle of Skye!

I really loved the location because it was located on a hill overlooking the loch the view was absolutely stunning, although I never met the owner as all the information was relayed to me before I needed it and my stay was seamlessly smooth with absolutely no issues whatsoever but knew if I needed anything Peter was only minutes away to help. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean with a mini kitchen and welcome parcel containing bread, milk and quite a few other treats which is a great idea and very welcome. Would definitely love to go back.

Charming, lovely room. Very comfortable. We had a king size bed which is an unusual but appreciated find in our travels. Perfect light breakfast of croissants, yogurt with fruit, eggs, juice and coffee.

Beautiful quaint cabin in the middle of nature, perfect for our 2 night stay on Skye. Self-contained so we came prepared but the host had thought of everything we might need, from bath robes & slippers, a beautiful bottle of wine, sleep kit with eye mask for those long daylight hours, different hot drinks. It was perfect thank you so much!
Great location, host left us balloons for our birthdays, the accommodation we stayed in was tired and a little small. As we were travelling with another couple we were in separate buildings, would of appreciated being next to each other as the rooms were better in the joint building
Quiet and located 10min drive from Neist Point lighthouse. Also, a short walk to Pooltiel Loch were we watched seals and Otters play. Also, the little luxury inclusions like slippers, robes Champaign, and hot chocolate. The complete kitchen was excellent. You could not wish for anything more
