The Crown Inn, hotel in Gayton

The Crown Inn enjoys a location in Gayton, 10 miles from Houghton Hall and 6.6 miles from Castle Rising Castle. This property offers access to darts, free private parking, and free Wifi.

I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was, given that it was a pub. I was expecting a lot of noise in a pub on a Saturday night, but it didn't happen. The bar doesn't play music or TV and the customers weren't very loud (though the rooms do overlook the beer garden, so you can hear some talking if you open the windows). Room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were super-friendly, helpful, and polite. It's in a convenient location, not too far from the main roads and the coast. Probably the best room in a pub I've ever had, and definitely on my list of 'places to stay when I go birding in Norfolk' from now on!

We had a lovely stay there, would go there again. Superb food, pub/rustic atmosphere but tastefully modernised and very clean. Very efficient and friendly staff with can-do attitude. Good sized carpark. Lovely overhead shower.

FIELDVIEW FARMHOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST, hotel in Gayton

FIELDVIEW FARMHOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST offers accommodations in Colkirk, 10 miles from Houghton Hall and 20 miles from Blickling Hall.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Vance, who kindly offered to help us with our luggage. They room was spotlessly clean with an amazing ensuite shower room, which looked as though it had recently been fully refurbished. After a peaceful night, we were treated to an excellent breakfast, personally prepared by David, as good as any we've served in a 5* Hotel. Topped off with a fabulous pot of coffee, as we took in the expansive views of the countryside and watched the donkeys.

Ben and Diane are excellent hosts and the breakfast is superb. I was able to bottle feed the lambs Larry and Barry and the dogs are welcoming and very friendly. We had a marvellous break at Little Abbey Farm - thoroughly recommend this B and B!

A great location for attending a wedding at Pentney Abbey. There was car parking available and the room was so quiet which was ideal for getting restful sleep. Delicious breakfast, with options for big or small appetites, and very friendly and helpful hosts. We stayed for two nights and it was lovely to be able to walk around the farm and explore nearby footpaths, accessible from the farm. The hosts recommended a local pub, Carpenters Arms, for an evening meal which was a short drive away with great food.

Flint Cottage is the perfect home from home (which is important to me when my work takes me away from my actual home!) Very well provisioned and equipped, cosy, quiet, private, comfortable and the wood burner was the deal maker (I have one at home and love it!) Communication with the lovely Jenny was superb and the welcome hamper really appreciated. Thank you for making my stay at Flint Cottage so special.
