Oak Tree Inn, hotel in Balmaha

On the east shore of Loch Lomond, this award-winning family-run country inn is constructed from locally quarried slate and offers a perfect tranquil location for a romantic or relaxing break.

The location for starters, simply amazing. Paying that we bit extra for the loch view from your room is worth it (if the weather is right!). The quality of the food on offer is that of high quality, I could get fatter than I already am with the buffet breakfast that is available. I had no need to eat from the gluten free menu, but I was told from a work colleague who has eaten there that the GF food on offer was some of the best that she had tried anywhere. The staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful.

We had a great stay in the lodge. Thorsten was a very friendly host with recommendations for the area. The rooms were very practical and charming, the communal kitchen was well equipped. Also a great location to discover the surroundings from. Would certainly recommend.

Great location for the West Highland Way. We were upgraded to a room in one of the cottages and it was spacious, comfortable, quiet and clean. The staff were super friendly and there was a good choice of food and drink at the pub for dinner and breakfast, including veggie options

Charming cottage on the shore of Loch Lomond. Felt very secluded and private, perfect for a quiet getaway. The garden has plenty of seating for you to take in the views. Couldn’t really have asked for more, it was cosy, comfortable and exactly what we were hoping for. I’d definitely stay again. Access to the beach was just a short walk from the property, and connected to a woodland/Loch side path to Balmaha.

Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning! Secondly, the staff are so very kind and friendly, making this place absolutely charming. The hotel is sandwiched between the loch and Conic Hill. A short (1.2 mile ish) walk but quite steep (1000 ft) hill, but has absolutely stunning views of Loch Lomond. Well worth the walk and we followed it with a meal in the restaurant afterward which is quaintly decorated and the food is delicious. The rooms are in little guest houses with private ensuite bathrooms, very cute and peaceful.
