The large old chateau has been sensitively restored and furnished with interesting modern art much of which is for sale. There is a sense of grandeur - elegant rooms with tall ceilings, impressive staircase. The bed was superbly comfortable and the large room had everything you need including a smart TV on which you can access your own Netflix/Youtube/Prime account, and a good shower. Breakfast was served in the beautiful old dining room and consisted of excellent-quality fresh croissants, pain au chocolate, baguettes and delicious home-made jams with a choice of salted and non-salted butter, together with as much fresh coffee or tea as you want - a really excellent French breakfast. Free parking just outside the front gates, town centre 2 minutes walk away. The owner was attentive, helpful and discrete and we will definitely stay there again next time we visit Lauzun

For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Great location, just 100m up from the very popular square. Spacious well appointed bed room and en suite (we were in the red room overlooking the lovely courtyard). Breakfast each morning was lovely with fresh fruit, home made yogurt and preserves. But the lasting impression was the hospitality of our hosts, who gave us good recommendations for restaurants and activities, interspersed with great humour.
Great location for Eymet centre. Restaurants and shops. Very quaint in an old part of the Bastide.

This lovely charming house is in a great location near Eymet. The bedrooms are well decorated, spacious and well equipped. The garden is beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic. Mark and Tom are very welcoming and accommodating hosts. we really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend Le Portanel to others.
