Location was perfect. The Host was polite and friendly and very welcoming. The room was a little tired in decor, but clean.
The surpise breakfast, when you think you only have cold frikadella's and chicken legs, out comes the cold meat and cheeses, fruit and everything else, don't be put off. More than you can eat. Excellent.

The sound of the Monschau river should be included in the description because it's right out the back of the property and this adds to the appartements charm!!
We had a great stay at Haus Barkhausen during our Christmas holidays! We stayed in one of the smaller apartments: Gartenblick. It was very nice, clean and comfortable, with charming old furniture and provisions for the kitchen, and very well heated for the winter. It was very easy to get there with the bus, as the apartment is very close to the city centre. Our host was also very easy to reach. Will definitely stay again there if we visit Monschau in the future!
Within walking distance of the city center. Nice and quiet location; Close to the national park trails, so we took walk every morning. The apartment was big, had kitchen with all the utensils.
Great location, short walk from Monschau old town. Numerous great hiking routes nearby. The appartment itself was spacious and very quiet. Everything was very clean, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The host welcomed us upon arrival and was very friendly and helpfull. Supermarket and shops within 5 minute car drive. We really recommend this place!

Great host, spacious rooms and excellent breakfast. Ideal location to stroll into the city centre with a five minutes walk. The host is very flexible and friendly with lots of tips and advice on your stay in Monschau.
