I absolutely loved my stay at Chongo's place! The view to the volcano and the swimming pool were incredible, it was super quiet and the bed was very comfortable so I slept like a baby. Everything was very clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back :)

Other reviews say it all. A really nice place to stay (two nights in our case). Marce and Fabio are great hosts with extensive knowledge of birds, ecology, etc. (Fabio is also a guide.) Room had (for us) the best mattress and sheets during two weeks in CR. We had really fine breakfasts, and dinners by arrangement. Coati in the tree adjacent to our balcony. Toucans, more toucans and other birds seen right from the open-air dining table, with scopes and guides at hand. The location is at 600m, with a view and nice breezes. No bugs at all (August). The road in is steep at times but paved in sections and well-compacted coarse gravel elsewhere; mud is no issue at all. Trails of the Finca Stellar entrance to the Bosque Eterno de los Ninos are a short walk up the road.

Room was clean and comfortable. Felt a little small for two people but for the price it is worth it. Pool and shared kitchen space were appreciated. Staff very kind and helpful. Located near city so all tours we booked accepted to pick us up. Self check-in/check-out was great because our shuttles from different locations did not reach the hotel when the front office was open.

Fantastic location—close to the city center yet free from noise and traffic. The views of the volcano from both the room and the hotel are spectacular. We loved having our own private pool! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with booking tours and ensuring we had the best experiences.
Although there's no on-site restaurant, the staff recommended excellent nearby dining options. Highly recommend for anyone visiting La Fortuna! I will definitely go back :)
Birds and breakfast has everything a naturalist can dream of: a beautiful and active garden with lots and lots of bird species visits; many reference wildlife books from birds, mammals, reptiles…; great location not only for the stunning view but also for being next to the quiet area of Children's Eternal Forest; spotting scopes and binoculars available for birdwatching and very cozy elegant rooms and 24/7 coffee/tea bar. Big thanks to Fabio and Marcella for being such amazing host!
We loved everything. Location, hot springs, food. They catered for our gluten and dairy free requirements so much so we had dinner there both nights. The garden is beautiful, private and quiet. The views are stunning, location is perfect.
I can't wait to go back to Termales, great location with natural thermal pool on site. It is really suited for eco travelers, live with nature. Bungalows have living roof, yet comfortable inside. Everyday waking up listening many birds and howler monkey. Plenty of parking, good breakfast, great staff- Jim at the front desk is a great help, Madelin makes killer cocktails. Last of all, the awesome waterfall of the thermal pools can melt away stress in a second. I stayed before at other resorts, but this one is quiet, secluded, and quaint.
This place was sow relaxed, with a jungle and private river in your backyard. We saw even a sloth in the backyard. We loved it!
45 min walk from the city center La Fortuna, but perfect with an Uber and a supermarket and restaurants in 10 min walk. So you don’t have to be in the busy city centre.
Charming central building with more private lodges in the jungle. Cosy little pool next to the river. Very helpful host. Excellent breakfast. High quality restaurant and bar opposite to the lodges.
Location is quiet but only few min walk from the city centre and local bus terminal. The place is clean and looks cute with the little lights. At night its very quiet excl the beds. Its super cheap.
If you like it, they have a whatsapp group and do a lot of group activities.
The staff was helpful when asked.
