We had such a wonderful time and were lucky to stay at villa (#7) that was only recently built.
Berenice at the "reception" was such a great help by providing the best local dinner and activity information which we gladly made use off. Parking behind the fence and Internet were great too.
The premise is very green with chickens, a pair of Tucan, birds and colorful plants and flowers. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi and prepared breakfast at the outdoor kitchen where coffee and eggs from the chickens were for free.
By taxi/Uber it was just a couple minutes ride into La Fortuna but we can also recommend the restaurants opposite of Villa Tucan.
We can highly recommend Villa Tucan and Berenice as a host.

The hosts at this property were great they were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and afterwards they gave us a fantastic tour around the premises where we saw frogs, different fruits, artefacts of indigenous ancestors and learnt about medicinal plants.

The all structure is managed by the sweetest family, everyone is polite, kind and welcoming.
The bungalow is clean and they’re also making different animal towels each day with fresh new towels.

Fantastic location—close to the city center yet free from noise and traffic. The views of the volcano from both the room and the hotel are spectacular. We loved having our own private pool! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with booking tours and ensuring we had the best experiences.
Although there's no on-site restaurant, the staff recommended excellent nearby dining options. Highly recommend for anyone visiting La Fortuna! I will definitely go back :)
Birds and breakfast has everything a naturalist can dream of: a beautiful and active garden with lots and lots of bird species visits; many reference wildlife books from birds, mammals, reptiles…; great location not only for the stunning view but also for being next to the quiet area of Children's Eternal Forest; spotting scopes and binoculars available for birdwatching and very cozy elegant rooms and 24/7 coffee/tea bar. We loved everything. Location, hot springs, food. They catered for our gluten and dairy free requirements so much so we had dinner there both nights. The garden is beautiful, private and quiet. The views are stunning, location is perfect.
I can't wait to go back to Termales, great location with natural thermal pool on site. It is really suited for eco travelers, live with nature. Bungalows have living roof, yet comfortable inside. Everyday waking up listening many birds and howler monkey. Plenty of parking, good breakfast, great staff- Jim at the front desk is a great help, Madelin makes killer cocktails. Last of all, the awesome waterfall of the thermal pools can melt away stress in a second. I stayed before at other resorts, but this one is quiet, secluded, and quaint.
This place was sow relaxed, with a jungle and private river in your backyard. We saw even a sloth in the backyard. We loved it!
45 min walk from the city center La Fortuna, but perfect with an Uber and a supermarket and restaurants in 10 min walk. So you don’t have to be in the busy city centre.
Charming central building with more private lodges in the jungle. Cosy little pool next to the river. Very helpful host. Excellent breakfast. High quality restaurant and bar opposite to the lodges.
Location is quiet but only few min walk from the city centre and local bus terminal. The place is clean and looks cute with the little lights. At night its very quiet excl the beds. Its super cheap.
If you like it, they have a whatsapp group and do a lot of group activities.
