Lynda our host was really welcoming and she has the most exceptional property to stay in, we spent a night there in November but it would've been lovely to stay in the summer months as there are lovely views of the beach/sea etc from her panoramic windows. We also had a lovely relaxing breakfast in the morning before we started our drive home.

Tranquility No 42 Port Haverigg Marina er gististaður með garði og bar í Millom, 42 km frá Windermere-vatni, 43 km frá Wasdale og 49 km frá Scafell Pike. Loved the views and the accommodation was really comfortable with everything you needed for a few days. Bed very comfortable. Ski Bar on site had good meals and lots of drinks choices and the staff were very accommodating. Very dog friendly. Try Riva Gelato just over on the campsite which has lovely ice creams to choose from. Easy to get to lots of different places from where we were. We were unfortunate enough to encounter almost a full day of heavy rain but the accommodation has a good TV with lots of channel choices so we were able to keep entertained when we couldn't get out. Communication with the owners was excellent. We will be visiting again.

Hylton Park Silloth Caravan Holiday Homes er staðsett í Silloth, 46 km frá Derwentwater og 46 km frá Buttermere. Boðið er upp á garð- og garðútsýni. Lovely caravan, incredibly clean and comfy. Everything you could need for a few nights away. Couldn't fault Dawn, she was excellent help before during and after. Wonderful host.

The caravan is very spacious and modern with comfortable beds. The views over the lake are stunning and it is a 2 minute walk from a great onsite bar and a beach, there are also fantastic water sport facilities. We enjoyed the space and had a lovely relaxing experience.

Very welcoming host - before dinner we enjoyed chatting and learning more about the history of the area - Romans with port settlements, salt (hence Sil), cattle grazing (lath in Cumbrian, hence loth), the RAF base (Hudson aircraft, and the first flight simulator). Dinner and breakfast excellent, and dining room decor charming. Comfortable room with four poster bed.

Row Farm Cottage er staðsett í Millom, aðeins 6,3 km frá Muncaster-kastala og býður upp á gistirými með fjallaútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. The location was amazing… a beautiful hideaway in the countryside of Lake District between sheep. The cottage was great, very cozy and perfect for a family with dog. Our dog Luna fell in love with the house dog - and think he was in love too! A really sweet creature! Great talking to Stephen our super friendly host. When we asked if we could stay a night longer there was no problem at all. The kitchen was fully equipped, beds perfect and shower also great. There were even special dog towels! The WiFi worked perfect (very important for our son haha) We will definitely come back!!

Everything outstanding host, location, facilities, communications and outstandingly immaculate. All the additional touches with the guides, the walk laminates and visits by the ducks . The spaciousness of the apartment was amazing. It was handy to all amenities and well placed to see the local attractions. There were many unexpected extras such as a spare phone charger, a CD collection and player, a library including local history books and the kitchen fridge and freezer were a great size. The whole kitchen area was really well appointed. The bathrooms were also spacious and the whole apartment was very clean. The views of the harbour and surrounds were lovely and there was always something interesting to see. Restaurants were all within walking distance, and despite their close proximity there were no noise issues. Parking was secure and easy to get in and out of. Would certainly stay here again.

Westcliff er staðsett í Seakvare, nokkrum skrefum frá Seakvare-ströndinni og 10 km frá Muncaster-kastalanum. Þaðan er útsýni yfir garðinn og innri húsgarðinn. Beautiful room with fantastic views.

Victoria House er staðsett í Barrow í Furness og býður upp á gistirými með aðgangi að garði. Gististaðurinn er með sjávar- og fjallaútsýni og er 43 km frá World of Beatrix Potter. We had such a great stay here! We used it as a base to explore the Lakes from - much less crowded and touristy, and everyone we encountered on Walney Island made us feel so welcome! The hosts at Victoria House were lovely and the room was exactly what we wanted: comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom (with a clawfoot tub to soak in after a big day of walking!). Will absolutely be back!
