Situated in Al Ḩamrāʼ, Al Rawnaq Studio has recently renovated accommodation 46 km from Nizwa Fort. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the apartment free of charge. The accommodation features airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. I loved everything! The apartment is spotless and very comfortable. It has a small kitchen area (kettle, microwave), a living room area and a big comfortable bed. Marita the owner is lovely and helped us with advice on restaurants, sights and where to park at sights. There are restaurants and grocery stores close by. Al Hamra is a perfect base to visit Jebel Shams, Nizwa, Bahla Fort and Misfat al Abriyeen. The apartment is very easy to find with Marita's instructions. I HIGHLY recommend staying here.

If you’re visiting Nizwa, we’d definitely recommend staying at the Omani Guest House. We spent two nights in Nizwa: one at the Omani Guest House and one at another traditional inn - and we much preferred the Omani Guest House. The main reason was Ali, the owner, and all the amazing staff. They were very welcoming and friendly, which made our stay really enjoyable. The location of the guesthouse is perfect, right by Nizwa Souq, so everything from cafes to restaurants is just a short walk away. The rooms have a lovely traditional decor, and our room was very comfortable and quiet. We would definitely return.

The room air conditioning was a blessing in the afternoon heat. We used this as a starting point for hikes in Jebal Shams (which is about an hour drive), but there’s also the old town just about 20 minutes’ walk away.
