Seigantoji Temple is 22 km from the apartment, while Taiji Municipal Stone Wall Memorial Hall is 23 km from the property. Nanki–Shirahama Airport is 94 km away. Light and airy. Central to everything including just a short walk to the Shingu train station and it was super easy to catch a bus to go to the Nachi Taisha Grand Shribe. We literally walked 50 metres down the road to catch the Number 11 bus, then had a coffee at Nachi Station cafe and caught the number 31 bus to the shrine. So simple. Oh and there’s a cafe with a 50s milk bar theme up a few side streets that serves amazing pizzas with a Japanese twist - try the Teriyaki chicken pizza - Yummo

We were so lucky to find an accommodation on a very short notice close to Takijiri, the start of the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Trail. We were prepared to walk from the accommodation to the trailhead in the morning (about 30 minutes), but the host offered a ride for us (and the other 3 guests that were staying with him). We stayed in the downstairs apartment and found it to be very clean and spacious. There was a washing machine and dryer which can be very useful for hikers. When we arrived, there was a welcome panel in front of the house with a number to contact - we did and the host arrived right away. He lives in the neighbourhood, less than a minute away. It is also at their house, where he and his wife serve meals to their guests. It was a nice experience to meet the other guests (there were 3) during dinner and breakfast. The meals themselves were beautifully presented and so delicious. We very much appreciate that they went out of their way to offer us meals (dinner, breakfast and lunch box) with less than a day notice. We had a very good time and would not hesitate to stay here again.
