This vacation home provides accommodations with a patio. Both parking on-site and free Wifi are available at Montrose Townhome 13 Mi to Black Canyon Natl Park. This was a true home. It felt homey, not hotely. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking and serving meals. I sleep like a log, even without bringing my own pillow from home. The rules were simple and not constricting. It was truly fantastic.

We use the hotel for just one night due to living about 60 miles away. Always seem to be on the early morning flight out of MTJ, so for location, parking, and the great staff, we will always stay at the Hampton Inn Montrose.
Nice quaint town with a hometown feel. Love the Fourth of July parade and had a lovely front row seat at the Horsefly! Very friendly folks and close to Ouray and Silverton, which was our sightseeing destinations.
This was our second stop in Montrose. I had wanted to see the Black Canyon for years. Last trip we did the south side of the Black Canyon, and did the boat ride we found online and booked. This time we needed to get home, but we drove up the north rim. What an exciting drive, and an amazing place.
Montrose is in close convenient proximity to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. It is a small town with limited culinary and shopping options. There are a few open stands to purchase locally grown produce and fruits. Several buildings in the downtown area are under construction to preserve their historical significance and potentially attract other businesses. The visitor's center has a nice collection of literature on recreational events and activities happening in town throughout the year.
Montrose is a wonderful city. Everything you would need. Was a great central location to visit Ridgeway, Telluride, Black Canyon NP. Sweet historic downtown and many wonderful places to dine and shop.
Montrose is not just a stop between the airport and Telluride, or Gunnison and Grand Junction. There is a lot to do, see, shop, and eat in Montrose. Highly recommend people slow down and stay a while. Try the historic, freshly remodeled Rathbone Hotel. Have a drink at Shelter Distillery. Get your portrait taken at Studio 14 by Gabrielle. Shop local.
