Location was great, right near where we needed to go. The view of the lake was stunning at night. Steps from the Seattle Center arts and entertainment district and the famous Space Needle, this hotel in downtown Seattle, Washington has guest rooms with coffee makers and 42-inch flat-screen TVs. I liked the promontory to our friends’ home. It was the most reasonable of all the “good accommodation” choices. Very clean and very comfortable. I loved how much space we had in each room. It was a 3-minute stroll to the coffee shop (located in the grocery store, QFC). Secure underground parking. Elevators to one’s’ room. Exceptionally quiet noise-cancelling windows. We literally had Jack hammering done by a new construction crew on the street .*AND* Highway 99 road noise but no noise was heard in the room! We were amazed once we walked out the front door and were greeted by beeping heavy equipment! Convenient access to Interstate 5. Exceptionally nice bedding (I loved the comforter). Temperature was easy to control. Effective, too.

Staybridge Suites Seattle - South Lake Union is located in the South Lake Union district of Seattle, and is 0.7 mi from Space Needle. It was a convenient location, and our room was ready early when we arrived to leave our bags. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our room was great!
So much to do. Although very touristy, Space Needle, rest of Seattle Center, Chinatown, Museum of Flight, Woodland Zoo, harbour front, were all great to visit. So many great restaurants and bakeries all over Seattle, not just downtown. Favourites: Italio, Kona, Mykonos in the North end. Pike Place Chinese Cuisine had the best BBQ pork buns ever. So many places to shop for stuff you need and want. BUT, Seattle is so bloody expensive in every way imaginable. Like NEXT level, holy sh**balls expensive. And downtown on the summer weekends are just too busy to even bother. Save it for the weekdays if possible.
The water front and city line was beautiful. The zoo was amazing and well as the aquarium ( to many kids yelling because they wanted to see the fish poop😳) pop culture museum was awesome. Olympic science center and water front was awesome as well as the market and light house
We went for a Blue Jays game, and then we went and watched the fireworks which was a long walk and we didn’t even get into the park to watch them. We stood on the street. I would’ve loved to had more time to do more things… But the Canadian dollar does not do well over there and has seniors we found everything quite expensive ….No senior rates
Loved the glass floor of the Space Needle, and loved the Chihuly glass garden! The Science Museum was geared more for kids, but would be a great place for a family to visit, although it also has the butterfly santuary which was beautiful! The Seattle Aquarium wasn't the best I've seen, but the jellyfish doughnut was mesmerizing! Pike Place Market was packed with people and neat stuff to see and buy! The monorail. was super affordable and a quick trip to city center. Bubblegum alley was a fun free stop. The hostel was a huge bonus with friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, excellent free food, and affordable!
Went for long weekend for couple Mariners games by train. Walked from train station to hotel and from hotel to TMobile stadium, to Pike Street Market and to Space Needle. Safe, plenty of people around, hilly with many restaurants and small coffee shops to stop.
Seattle is a beautiful city that does not require a car to get around. The Light Rail system is very efficient, affordable, clean, monitored, and on time. Uber and Lyft rideshare providers are plentiful, although somewhat expensive. It's a walkable city with museums, aquarium, zoo, the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, many restaurants and snack shops, and places/activities for families.
