First of all we were warmly welcomed by the staff in the check in counter. Plus everyone else we met thst were working around the hotel greeted us. They all seemed happy working there. The rooms were spacious comfortable beds…perfect for families of 3-4. Adequately supplied kitchen…we especially appreciated the large refrigerator. Just 2 suggestions…we reserved 2 rooms one king and one with the 2 queen beds. We asked that they be close together. The best they gave us was same floor but located at the opposite ends of the building. Why was that? I believe that requests can be granted especially if one gives 2 weeks time ahead of arrival to arrange. Second suggestion please provide the egg scramble bowl..I am gluten intolerant and could not eat a hot breakfast except for the boiled egg and oatmeal. Thank you

THE ROOM WAS OK AND IT WAS NICE FOR THE HOST TO LET US CHECK IN MUCH EARLIER WITH A LITTLE FEE. THE HOST WERE QUITE HELPFUL IN CHECKING US IN SO THAT WAS VERY GOOD.

Castro Valley is a good place to base any trip to the Bay area. We were visiting family that live in Alameda and Castro Valley was only 25 minutes away (on a weekend) and had lots of restaurants to chose from.
We stayed for less than an hour & that was too long. There was no towels, no tp, snot on the walls, the room smelt like smoke, cigarette burns in the bed. The tv in the in the 1st room didn't work so they moved us 2 doors down. It was disgusting. We realized every room had glaring issues which could not be over looked & we couldn't stick it out for the night that we had originally reserved & wanted a refund for leaving which the staff refused.
The front desk staff were great. The bed was lousy. The mattress was lumpy and uneven and uncomfortable. Also, the fitness room was not accessible as it was being remodeled apparently. I was never told that when I booked the room.
Our "key" to our room was faulty. We needed to get help to get into our room at 10PM. The building was in the process of being remodeled. The pool and spa were unavailable. The carpets were dirty. The "bag breakfast" was processed junk food. We were given a pepperonni Hop Pocket for breakfast! :(
I loved that the pool was open, the kids loved it too. Personally I wish the hot tub worked, but undergoing renovations throughout the entire property, there were alot of scattered unfinished areas that seemed odd as during our stay we never saw workers actually working these areas. And having to walk through only the front doors due to no other doors opened from the outside with room key. And my room seemed to had prior water damage as I saw staining and prior repair had been made. I also found it odd that the elevators had carpet that looked and smelled like the early 90s
On top of it being a construction zone. They do not tell you in the web site. Someone in their staff came in my room and stole 4 pieces of my jewelry. No safe was offered. I have traveled for over 30 years and never had something like this to happen. The bed was comfy. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALLL...
