Great exquisite food. Creative community aquarium worth going too. Lots of belief in community building Covid hit hard. They are still rebuilding. Lovely heart people Temples are worthy of course. I purposely went in non tourist time. It was great. Be prepared for him nudity so take hydrolight electolite Especially for sweating. And if possible a car and driver. Plenty of tours ,even in off tourist. We went Grab app a lot and tuktuks as well. Great space to look at the triangle. It’s is a big day. Markets so so some tribal materials but limited. Great place.
Beautiful city to visit, not a place to spend more than a few days. Lots and lots of beautiful temples, many places to go for a hike (the walk to Wat Pha Lat is a great day to spend the day). The town is very touristy, and lacks the vibrancy of Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket. The tourist areas are too contained and self-referential, the vibe is "we are all visitors passing through" instead of being in a cosmopolitan city. The Old City is very easy to get around on foot, and there are a couple of cool museums (the Treasury Museum is a great place to learn about the Lanna and the history of the region's economics, see the evolution of coins and paper money in Lanna and later in Thailand). The temples in the Old City are all worth stopping by. Bring a good camera and be ready to walk a lot. Chiang Mai is on my list of Must See places to visit once, make lots of great memories, then move on to more interesting and engaging locations.
Chiang Mai is a nice little place to go to where everything is more calm and relaxed. It's a nice inexpensive getaway if you are spending a lot of time in places like Pattaya or Bangkok. The surrounding temples are a must see. But beware of the many tourists. The night safari was fun, but a little expensive. The Zoo was a great place for a walk, would be nice with some more animals. The sharks in the Zoo were a disappointment. They were quite small and didn't reflect what they mentioned in their marketing. Using services like Bolt and Grab makes it quite easy to get around town cheap. On average Chiang Mai is less expensive compared to Pattaya and Bangkok
Nice place to visit Morning around 6am Some Buddhists walking along the street n you can see the *blessing * between people (give n take /peace ) Truly touching n better to stay longer than a week(like us) or even more to dig in the cozy /slow walk city /prefer the old town area indeed) We’re not even out of the old town to far (only 30 mins scooter to the country side or the mountain area only )but 7 days seems not enough Miss the spa (walked pass n tried *lila*) n lux pick up service by Makkha The Thai tea n … Totally different kinda of experience than Bangkok (nice thought but you know the city is Morten n fast ) Thai king 72nd birthday celebration activity by the local people was just on Sunday while we walking around the three kings area by accident
The old temples of chiang mai are stunning. The old city is full of art shops, street art, and you can soak it all in - mostly for free. the coffee is to die for! The vegan food is excellent - we simply couldn't have enough of it.
Ancient mountain city of Thailand containing many cultural treasures abd markets. Be careful what time of year you go as you should a hide Smokey season from Feb 15-May 15 November and December are the best months
