Set within 2.1 km of Spiaggia di Calamizzi and 2.7 km of Spiaggia di Reggio di Calabria, Eleven Bed & Breakfast offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Reggio Calabria. Beautiful little place close to the airport (8 minute walk) with very friendly and accommodating staff even though we checked in late. Modern room with air conditioning unit and refrigerator, venetian blinds on the outside, big clean bathroom, huge balcony and terrace where you can watch planes land and take off at the airport. And even though it is directly adjacent to the airport, we had a very long and restful sleep, so thick walls and windows. Another big plus is the Irish Pub right downstairs, that serves great beers, cocktails and burgers.

The room is centrally located. Just 10 minute walk to th archeological museum, the duomo and the beach walk. Lovely town. The host was very attentive. Despite being in the centre of the city, the room was very quiet
the helpfulness of the local people; never too busy to help a tourist! we truly enjoyed visiting the museum with the Riace Bronze statues...breath-taking experience and the rest of the museum was a treasure chest!
There was a lot of garbage in the streets. Looks like it’s not collected very often which is a pity. Most pavements need to be redone as there are a lot of cracks and potholes. The main shopping area is very clean and well kept though. Trains are very punctual. Only had one delay but it wasn’t their fault as their was a fire somewhere. And only one hour delay so the train after that was on schedule. One other thing, the evening train going to Lamezia terme on a Saturday evening was full of youngsters and the boys were extremely rowdy and noisy to the extent of making me feel uncomfortable even though I wasn’t traveling alone.
Reggio di Calabria is a beautiful and elegant city, largely dating from after the 1908 earthquake. Many buildings are in the elegant Liberty style. The Lungomare along the Straits of Messina is a great walk with views of Sicily and Etna. It has huge magnolias and pretty buildings. You can watch the sun set over Sicily. Via Garibaldi is a lively pedestrian street with many shops and cafes. The Aragonese Castle is definitely worth a visit. The Archaeology Museum is a must see with Ancient Greek art and the famous Riace Bronzes. It is a quick, 30 minute train ride to fascinating Scilla.
The city needs a bit of exploration but it’s well worth it.Friendly locals great food especially local swordfish at Dalis ,pizza to die for and good beer at decent prices .The contemporary art gallery was well worth the browse at a cheap entrance fee as was the archaeological museum with the amazing pottery collection and spectacular bronzes.Close proximity to the Sicily ferry and beach resort Scilla Very laid back atmosphere and no hard sell.Realky enjoyed our stay
Reggio Calabria, in my opinion, is the jewel of the south. I feel it's underrated. Beautiful scenery, with the wonderful Lungomare. Lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from, not forgetting Cesare's gelati kiosk, it's the best in Reggio. However, I would avoid the cafes on the beach because they are more expensive than the ones on the side streets. Great shopping along Giuseppe Garibaldi Corso. Can't wait to go back there!
