The hotel was exactly as stated-rustic charm. We loved the welcoming casual vibe. The meals were very good. The history of the area and the herring factory tour was great! We enjoyed the drive up and the surrounding areas. we loved the feeling of remoteness- maybe not for everyone but it was the favorite area we stayed in our ten day trip around Iceland.

Secluded but all the facilities that you need, including a gas BBQ outside which we used to cook burgers. All in all well worth the 100km drive from Hólmavík. And an added bonus is that if you are staying overnight you can visit the pool late or early and avoid the day trippers (just remember cash to pay or note the bank details to make a transfer)

This is probably the best place we have stayed in our 25 days in Iceland. Everything was spotlessly clean, stylish, and in great condition. Everything you could possibly want is there. From paper towels in the kitchen to wine bottle opener, salt and pepper, olive oil, etc. With underfloor heating, the cabin temp was very easy to adjust up or down. The fridge was a good size about 80 litres, 3 induction stove tops, and they all worked perfectly. There was a toaster and coffee machine jaffle maker as well. On the deck was a hot tub with amazing views and a bbq and outdoor furniture.

The location was great, in the quiet area, the place was very nice and comfortable. Beautiful views. Hot tub was ready to use and it was great to be able to soak in the evening.
