Bécordel-Bécourt (1.2 miles from Albert – Picardie Airport)
Featuring garden views, Maison. Au champ du souvenir. 8 personnes. Features accommodation with a garden, a bar and barbecue facilities, around 32 km from Amiens Train Station. The owners are very friendly and doing their best that the quests are feeling good. It is a two-levels home with a very nice living room downstairs and three nice bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and quite comfortable to cook. There is a big private parking just in front of the gate and a huge nice garden with lovely roses and flowers, very comfy terrasse in shadow and a lot of space to run for the kids. In the night (but also in the daily time) it was very calm in the village so we had a very good sleep – also thanks to the very comfortable beds. The surroundings are very nice as well. We definitely will try to stay here again if we will be back to this region, what I really hope. Thank you very much!

Méaulte (1.6 miles from Albert – Picardie Airport)
A good location for a stress-free stay in Méaulte, Pause détente is a guest house surrounded by views of the quiet street. My husband found this place as a stopover on the way back to Calais from Disneyland. The house was beautiful in a lovely setting. The lady and gentleman were so friendly, even with the language barrier, we managed to communicate through translate and had a laugh. My brother in law who we were travelling with booked a hotel near by but mistakenly booked it for the previous night. We asked at our hotel and they were so accommodating and made a room up ready for them to join us. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment but the brother in law and family did. They seemed very happy with it. First rate stay. Would recommend and would definitely stay again if I found myself in that part of France. Lovely people. We wish them every success with their business

Kitchen had an electric oven with hob, microwave, toaster, fridge and washing machine. Plenty of utensils etc… Bathroom had an over bath shower and towels provided. TV and Wi-Fi provided. Hotel in Albert ( 2.6 miles)
The Hotel Ibis Albert is located in the heart of the Picardy countryside, 2 km from Somme 1916 Museum and Albert Train Station. Great location for a quick stay
There was a lot to see if you are interested in WW1, the cemeteries are dotted around, we didn't get to go to the caves at Arras, and we didn't get to go to Jules Vernes house in Amiens as it was closed the day we were there! Lots of history here. We will be returning to the area.
There are bars, restaurants and shops to browse but remember they will be closed on Sundays The museum is well worth a visit, allow up to 2 hours if can, followed by a walk in the park. Nearby are many Commonwealth Grave sites to visit, you will find many small ones dotted along the roads and some a little off the road but they are worth a quiet walk round. Please take a pen and sign the visitors books. Driving is easier if you remember that the driver is “in the gutter” ! Watch your speed as they have lower limits on all roads (except the toll roads) We used the channel tunnel which was easy and in France you can get straight on from the motorway as it very well signposted We only have a smattering of French and got by ok but a small phrase book is always handy!
Beautiful village, close to tourist sites and amenities. Plenty to do or just relax. Well worth including on your itinerary. We ate dinner in the township of Albert, 2 kms away, at Le Bistrot & La Basilique. Both highly recommend but worth booking ahead. Breakfast at our accommodation was excellent.
Our hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable well beyond our expectations. Their attention to detail and great kindness made a good stay really excellent.
We arrived on a Sunday, which meant a lot of shops and eating places were closed. The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a quiet area. The bathroom was clean. Breakfast was generous and fresh with a variety of choices. Everything in the town was within walking distance from the station. The church is worth a visit. The le Corner's pub, which was open on Sunday, served good meals and the wine list was also good. The information centre had some english speaking staff which helped immensely when we required a taxi for a side trip. English is not common in albert however the locals are patient and communication was made easier with the translator app. Our trip was impacted by the Paris strikes, and our train back to Paris was delayed until the afternoon. However the tickets remained valid. and abus was provided to ferry passengers from Albert to Amiens to make the connection with the train.
Close to WW1 sites and the town of Albert. A number of places to eat in Albert, tourist information office difficult to find at first as a bit out of town and situated in the library but very helpful lady called Valerie who spoke very good English. Parking in the market square was free and lots of space. Aveluy a quiet village outside Albert so needed to drive to the town for shopping and eating.
