It was clean & tidy, all facilities available. Plenty of towels and a good sized kitchen.
The bonus was a secure gated car park .
As we were on a WW1 battlefield tour the location was perfect.

Albert is an excellent choice for you if you want to explore major sights related to WW1. Lochnagar Crater, Fricourt, Mametz Wood, Thiepval are all within 10 mins drive. Loved Hygge cafe for fun and enjoyable atmosphere and food.
Don’t miss the Somme museum by the Badiloca- a must see!

We have been visiting Albert for over 20 years and in that time it has changed with new restaurants replacing the traditional Tabacs. However this isn’t necessarily great for travellers as they aren’t open all the time. We visited on a Sunday in July and absolutely no restaurants or bars were open at 2pm in the afternoon. Corners is the only place that was open from 6pm and needless to say it was packed. I would suggest Arras as a better stop over in the Somme region

We arrived on a Sunday, which meant a lot of shops and eating places were closed. The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a quiet area. The bathroom was clean. Breakfast was generous and fresh with a variety of choices. Everything in the town was within walking distance from the station. The church is worth a visit. The le Corner's pub, which was open on Sunday, served good meals and the wine list was also good. The information centre had some english speaking staff which helped immensely when we required a taxi for a side trip. English is not common in albert however the locals are patient and communication was made easier with the translator app. Our trip was impacted by the Paris strikes, and our train back to Paris was delayed until the afternoon. However the tickets remained valid. and abus was provided to ferry passengers from Albert to Amiens to make the connection with the train.

There are bars, restaurants and shops to browse but remember they will be closed on Sundays
The museum is well worth a visit, allow up to 2 hours if can, followed by a walk in the park.
Nearby are many Commonwealth Grave sites to visit, you will find many small ones dotted along the roads and some a little off the road but they are worth a quiet walk round. Please take a pen and sign the visitors books.
Driving is easier if you remember that the driver is “in the gutter” !
Watch your speed as they have lower limits on all roads (except the toll roads)
We used the channel tunnel which was easy and in France you can get straight on from the motorway as it very well signposted
We only have a smattering of French and got by ok but a small phrase book is always handy!

The owners were so helpful and pleasant and the apartment is in a great location for exploring the Somme region. Albert town centre is very close too and there's an excellent bakery nearby.
Facilities are really good too with everything you need for a short stay.
Host was very helpful and responsive. Accommodation was perfect, everything we needed for a weekend stay, within an easy walk of restaurants in Albert and an easy drive for visiting the area. Would not hesitate to recommend and can’t wait to stay again.
