This lovely apartment was uncomplicated from start to finish- easy to book, easy to change a date when I made an error, easy to find, easy to enter, easy to stay and and easy to check out of. The home was extremely clean and well-equipped. We loved the added bonus of having a drip coffee machine to start our mornings. The apartment building itself is located right at the edge of a park and it was a beautiful, safe walk via a walking trail to the historic center (under 10 min and no traffic to contend with.) The city centre was easily accessible by walk, the apartment has a quite good location.
For a Czech city it was surprisingly uninspiring, the old town is beautiful and it's easy to get around. There is no castle or other major attraction. There's a brewery which proved to be very interesting.
Roudné is a small village near the town of České Budějovice and is extremely convenient as a destination to visit all the natural, cultural, historical and architectural sights of South Bohemia! From Roudné it is convenient to visit incredibly interesting places such as: České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Tábor, Písek, Holašovice, The State Chateau of Hluboká, Červená Lhota Castle, Orlík Castle, lake Lipno and many others.
nice silent city, very nice old town center circulated with a park area. Very good regional museum and interesting small museum of the first european railroad. Many good and also simple restorants with local food and bear.
Lovely historic town, super Xmas markets - better than Prague. Loads of great bars and several superb microbreweries as well as the world famous Budvar brewery which is well worth a tour. Great parks and loads of easy walking around the town make it a pleasure to visit. Good transport links and nearby Cesky Krumlov is a must see.
The city itself is very cute, the old center is actually not huge, but there is a nice park around it, which was home to some concerts and events at the time of our visit (early June). Not only is it a cute town in itself, it is also very well located to explore the region. Cesky Krumlov is 25-ish minutes drive away, the Lipno treetop walkway is about 1 hour. Pilsen is around 2 hours drive. There is a plethora of super cute towns and also a lot of beautiful nature and possibilities for biking and hiking in the entire area.
It's a small old town with very few things to see. It has one main square and the Black Tower which you can climb up to and see the view. Other than that, it doesn't have much to offer. I also found that it wasn't very safe at night, we even encountered a gang fight during our stay. However, it's convenient as a "base" for people who want to explore the South Bohemia region or want to do a bicycle tour and enjoy the nature around the area. But if you want to visit a nice quaint little Czech town with cobblestone streets, nice cafés/restaurants, and beautiful views, go to Cesky Krumlov.
