We visited several islands in the Azores and Sao Jorge was our favorite. Aldeia da Encosta is a lovely property and Gisela and her husband were kind and generous hosts. As others have said, the location is on a steep hill; everything on Sao Jorge is on a steep hill; that's what makes it beautiful. The view high above the town is breathtaking. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare simple meals. Everything was clean and tidy.

Beautifully renovated apartment right downtown and one street away from the sea. The main bedroom has a small balcony and great views, and has air conditioning. Well appointed kitchen and living area. Shared bathroom on the bedroom level with a separate toilet on the living area level. Very generous welcome basket was an amazing touch. Swimming towels were provided which we also very much appreciated.

The property was so clean, had stunning views of Mt Pico and Faial, beautiful interior decoration with pristine and modern appliances, comfortable bed and furniture, as well as great and easy parking. Lucy was so accommodating, and made the check-in process so smooth despite our cancelled/delayed flights. She also provided us with delicious fruits, cheese, honey, and coffee 😍

Beautiful views and well appointed to relax after exploring the island. The home is located in one of the Fajas, about 10 minutes from the main road. Paula was very helpful during our stay. The views from the balcony area were amazing!

A comfortable and well-appointed place that was well-heated and relaxing to stay in. Lucy personally stopped by to bring us a cake and made sure we had all we needed. On sunny days, there is a great view of Pico, and we loved watching sunset over the volcano. It's a beautiful place on a beautiful island.
