Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Pearl's Homestay Matale is a recently renovated holiday home situated in Matale, 27 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. When my driver edged up the narrow-inclined driveway of this very modern home, I didn’t know what to expect. But Pearle and her husband Ranjan greeted me with broad smiles and open arms. After they had retired, they built this sophisticated home on their family’s property. Since the terrain of Matale is mostly mountainous, their home is perched up high on a small hill, allowing a beautiful view of the city from their wide terrace. Communication was swift and efficient as their daughter fielded email questions from the UK. English was spoken perfectly by all members of the family, so no worries for any miscommunication. I had arrived in the late afternoon and Pearle offered me tea. Ranjan returned with some short eats and we sat around chatting. The conversation was easy and I felt like I was visiting good friends for the afternoon. My room was located just off their living room with an adjacent bathroom with contemporary fixtures – it felt like I was in a fancy hotel! The stylish room with extremely high ceilings was spacious and tastefully decorated with an enormous mosquito net tied with ribbons around the large four poster bed. There is a portable air conditioner/fan which was not really needed as the evenings are usually cool and temperate. Breakfast was a luxurious feast with red rice string hoppers, potato curry, dal, green gram and a delicious, spicy chicken curry. Watermelon, pineapple, and sweet juicy papaya from their garden rounded out the meal. After retirement, Pearle turned her interests to cooking and she is certainly an accomplished cook! My only regret was staying only one night and will certainly come back for a longer visit!

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, garden and views of garden, Roo Mansala Boutique Villas is situated in Sigiriya, 1.6 km from Pidurangala Rock. Amazing, serene place. Would love to go back there. The rooms were truly beautiful, amazing swimming pool and delicious food. Staff super helpful and very kind.

Featuring garden views and a garden, Harini Villa features accommodation attractively located in Sigiriya, within a short distance of Sigiriya Rock, Wildlife Range Office - Sigiriya and Sigiriya... The room was clean and comfortable, the people were very friendly and helpful. We didn't see many bugs considering that we were in the jungle. Our stay was very pleasant, the breakfast was very good.

Comprising a garden and barbecue facilities, Hotel Hideaway Garage is a recently renovated accommodation in Dambulla located close to Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Hideout in the secret forest. Pure breakfast, friendly host, quiet and cozy space inside nature. It was a sad that I only stayed for one day. Highly recommend this accommodation!🖤

Offering a barbecue and sun terrace, Sigiriya Water Cottage is set in Sigiriya, 3.4 km from Sigiriya Rock. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. The peace and silence. The sounds of the birds. Monkeys, peacocks and cows in the garden. Perfect and spacious room. Beautiful pool! Very good location, nearby The Lion Rock. But most of all: the kindness of Ruwan and Tilliny!

Offering a garden and garden view, Lion Wood Treehouse is situated in Talkote, 3.3 km from Pidurangala Rock and 3.7 km from Sigiriya Rock. A beautiful tree house located in a very serene and peaceful area of Sigiriya. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with all the facilities you could need (hair dryer, fridge, kettle etc). The owner and his family were very hospitable and could not do enough for us. Upon arrival, we were met with a refreshing drink whilst he advised us on the different activities/ sightseeing spots. They also provided a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast each morning. The location is perfect if you love nature and are looking for peaceful retreat, from our window we had a wonderful view of Lion Rock. It’s just worth noting that in the early mornings and evenings, there are wild elephants roaming around and so we were advised not to walk alone anywhere during this time of day.

Set in Matale and only 44 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall, Heavens Acres Lodge offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. It's a superb place. Really calming and beautiful environment. It was built in a totally different concept than other accommodations I stayed. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Has all the facilities tv,wifi kitchen and etc. I mostly like the concept and beautiful environment it was build on. And uncle and aunty who look after the place are really nice and i have great respect for their superb hospitality. They treated us like family unlike guests.

Offering a garden and garden view, Holly Flowers Villa is set in Sigiriya, 4.4 km from Sigiriya Rock and 7.5 km from Pidurangala Rock. I did like the place where the property was and the dinner what we ate here was the best in our stay in Sri Lanka. I would like to come back here anytime.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge and views of river, Riverston Nature Villa is situated in Rattota, 41 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. The super friendly and very communicative owner gave good tips for hiking and showed us a nice waterfall nearby. Our highlight was that he organized a night-out in the village, showing us around the rice fields and the temple and serving us amazing local food in the village in the traditional way. If you are looking for a great local experience in the nature you came to the right place!
