I booked this property for my last day in Sri Lanka as it was close to the airport and the beach. I didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was and I'm not sure that I'll be able to adequately describe what a little paradise this property is. The property is built around a canal and multiple buildings with private rooms of all sizes, several pools, lounge and dining areas, billiards, reading room with tons of books in all languages to choose from, a couple of intimate bar areas and a breezy terrace that was comfortable even at the hottest times of the day. The canal had some kayaks available and there were also some bikes for the guests. Meal options were limited, but everything was delicious. My room was large and comfortable with a pool just outside the door. There is also a workshop onsite for local women to learn handicrafts in order to supplement their income. Some of the crafts were sold in a small shop next to the reception.

Den charmerende og fredelig feriebolig Villa Shade ledes af en lokal familie. Den er omgivet af en grøn have, blot 4 km fra Negombos centrum. This was the perfect place to stay after arriving in Sri Lanka and before departing to the tea country. The property is beautifully maintained and we could tell a lot of love goes into it. The gardens are so peaceful and beautiful, and the family room perfect for our family of five with three young boys. The hosts went out of their way to serve us a delicious, plentiful breakfast the next morning. The provided food was perfect for our children as well as delicious, home made Sri Lankan food with organic ingredients from their own garden. We just wish we had longer to enjoy it. The swimming pool and grounds were so peaceful and great for exploring. If we return to Sri Lanka we would choose to stay here again.

The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcome and at home. I had a wonderful stay at this unique villa. It's perfect for anyone seeking a quiet, luxurious getaway with a touch of privacy. I highly recommend it
