Located in the Gangwon Province, Heidi K. Haus offers accommodation with outdoor barbecue facilities, green lawns and children's playground. Free WiFi and free private parking are available on site. We stayed four nights, with day trips to the Gangchon Rail Park, Alpaca World, and Nami Island. This place was recommended by friends and I'm so glad we decided to stay here. John and his wife were really kind and took very good care of us. Rooms were clean and neat. Hot water flowed freely during bathtime and we drank cold water straight from the tap. For the most part, we felt like we were visiting grandparents who kept feeding us. We skipped the Vivaldi Ski Park only to discover Pallbong-san was closed for the winter, but John got us four gimbap, brought us to a nearby service road up a small peak, and sent us on a short hike (that incline!). We still got to muck around in the mud and leaves on the way up. Our sons (9 and 7) enjoyed the outdoors, helping John build campfires, playing with his wife's dog, and generally just running around the property screeching like banshees and dipping into John's store of firewood and kindling as he looked on indulgently (city kids don't get campfires much). The charcoal barbecue most reviews mention was a highlight, as was (for me anyway!!) cooking kimchi ramyeon with actual kimchi in a pot on a stove in a proper pension in the Korean countryside. I saved the receipt from our trip to the mart to buy ingredients too, it's going into my journal. Thank you John and Mrs Lee for your hospitality, we will not forget it. p/s For runners, there's a short out and back - just follow the pavement that starts at one of the roads in front of the property (the road after the tunnel, you'll see when you get there) to the end. A round trip took us about 40+ minutes? We called it 6plus-7km. A pleasant enough route.

Terrace on the Cloud is located in Daegwallyeong and offers self-catering units with a terrace and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available each morning at the holiday home. IIt was a special experience as the host Howard showed us around.

Set in Sokcho and only 2.1 km from Mulchi Beach, Casa Seorak Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Could not recommend this highly enough, and wished we had stayed longer. The service was exceptional. Excellent communication in advance and helpful advice on which buses to take. On arrival, we were sat down and given a good explanation of the area and restaurant recommendations including spelling in Korean to make ir easier for ordering taxis! When we wanted to get up earlier and go straight up the mountain (missing breakfast), 3 rolls of gimbap were delivered to our door at 9pm! The room was big, comfortable, and the bed was great. Big bathroom. Would 100% recommend and we will stay again.

Situated in Pyeongchang, 46 km from Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza, Gilson Story Pension features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The host was so welcoming and helpful! We felt so at home here.

Everything. The location. The coziness. And especially the host. His kindness, friendliness and generosity.

Situated in Yangyang, 300 metres from Jukdo Beach and 1.5 km from Ingu Beach, 양철지붕위의 고양이Cat on a Hot Tin Roof offers air conditioning. Unique little apartment, original atmosphere. Well-decorated and very friendly place.

Set 10 km from Lordhills Golf and Resort, Forest of Color Pension offers ski-to-door access, pool with a view and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. Very kind people, thoughtful considerations for kids, clean facilities, a variety enjoyable activities in the area

Set in Hoengsong, 12 km from Cheongwoo Golf Club and 16 km from Oxfield CC, Grace River House-Block B offers a garden and air conditioning. Perfect location with great vieuw on the river. Very comfortable house with large living and plenty balconies. The house was very clean and roomy. The host is very kind and does everything to make the stay easy and pleasurable.

Featuring garden views, Sisilli Pension features accommodation with balcony, around 24 km from Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza. We stayed 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The property is so beautiful with snow and it snowed during our stay.The kids had so much fun sledging, building a snowman, little ducks and snowballs All the equipments were provided. The view from the cabin is amazing and the kids loved their room in the attic. The hosts were very hospitable, picked us from Jinbu station and back and also offered us a trip to the shops when they went out for groceries. The hosts shared a lot of home made food with us like tobokki, potato pancake,kimchi and pickled radish which were delicious. Eventhough the host does not speak English, we communicated well using a translator app. We are so glad to have made this detour after spending 10 nights in Seoul before heading to Busan. It's a highlight of our South Korea trip so far. Thank you Sisilli Pension, we will always remember our time here. Really appreciate the space and quiet after 10 days of cramped rooms in Seoul.

Newly renovated in June of 2017, Daegwanryeong Sketch Pension is set in Pyeongchang, 1.3 km from Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium and 2.9 km from Yongpyong Resort. The property owner was very nice and accommodated my request very kindly.
