Loved having access to two onsens inside the hotel! The village this hotel is located in is adorable and worth checking out while you're there.
I really enjoyed my visit to Takeno, a quiet, traditional fishing village. The guest house was simple but really lovely, and spotlessly clean, and Keisuke made sure I had everything I needed. The sashimi set for dinner was the best I have had in Japan - fish fresh straight off the dock. It was also really relaxing to hang out downstairs in his bookshop bar. All round a great experience.
Felt Luxurious
The traditional luxury ryokan was a treat. Staff was attentive and friendly. The rooms are clean and if you love the traditional ambience and hospitality then its for you. It is just situated next to the Express Bus station.
Traditional Japanese room, which means everything is floor level and the pillows are made of buckwheat kernels. The room was spacious, comfortable but not luxurious. The bath was very nice, so was the pond and garden, and the dinner I reserved was excellent. A shuttle bus operates from 4pm to the onsen in town but it’s a short walk. It’s quite a large hotel.
This was a super stay. Very luxurious for the price. We loved the onsen. Really nice and great view. Such comfy beds and pillows. Friendly staff.
Everything, awesome place in a wonderful and authentic small village
Excellent little splurge without going overboard. Amazing retreat in beautiful setting.
I liked everything. It was luxurious, the staff was excellent, the room was very nice and very clean. Location os good, near station. I loved it.
The free breakfast and parfaits were great! When we ordered additional parfaits, the staff made sure we understood that only the first ones were free. It was helpful that the staff asked what we wanted for breakfast when we checked in, and that we could order parfaits with our smartphones using QR code. In the lobby were bottles of luxurious shampoo, conditioner, skin and hair care liquids, and soap, for us to borrow. We liked watching the Abema TV channel.
