The kind lady and her brother are both very helpful in offering advice and directions. She also organised our jungle trekking to see orangutans and the total price was slightly cheaper than elsewhere. No need to worry about being ripped-off. The jungle trekking was really excellent, very professional and the guides took good care of my children and me. Here at Magpie homestay, the lady’s cooking is excellent and the price is not expensive. Do try her food! I hope to return again next year. There is also a washing machine for washing laundry.

We lived in a wonderful apartment: clean, well furnished, ample and comfortable. We did not use the kitchen facilities that were available and exploited instead the very attractive and satisfactory meal options provided by the structure itself. In a word, we have been coddled for the whole length of our stay. Should we come back to lake Toba (which we hope) this will be the first address to look for.

This is a beautiful property and without doubt the most luxurious and well maintained property in the area. It is an escape from the busy market town, somewhere to just relax after a day exploring. We were delighted to find such a large well appointed and luxurious villa with great staff. The owner was able to accommodate a request for breakfast and organise dinners for us also (at extra cost) which was great. This property very much has an international feel to it in the way they look after you. We had not planned to spend so much time in the villa but it was so good we spend more time in than out.
