The food was good (maybe not so vegan friendly in case you are vegan, we are not), and the staff was friendly. Great common area. Diving in their dive center is also a must. Will (dive master) takes out small groups and adapts to weather, conditions and experience of the divers. We had our own toilet and bathroom and all is great considering you are quite far from everything. Higly recommend

We were right on the water, the porch is nicely decorated, there's a table and chairs so in the evenings we could easily play cards. In the day, if we weren't diving with Corepen (they come and collect you and drop you off), we would snorkel on the coral reef in front of the homestay which is fantastic! We saw a turtle, ray, squid, clown fish, a shark etc. All three meals are included and Lina's cooking is amazing. We would eat fresh fish everyday. Portion size is very generous so you won't be going hungry. Lina and Arnes are so kind and gentle hosts we couldn't recommend this more. Their English is very limited so just make sure you download a translator app if you don't have data (there's no WiFi). The amenities are basic and you get electricity from around 6:30pm-10:30pm but for us, this only added to its charm. When we passed other homestays, we were always grateful for picking Efenli.

We were given guidance and help with transfers and local tours. We took a bird tour to Malagufuk organised by our host at Baronda which was great. Our host helped me organise a meeting with a local conservation agency. Our visit coincided with that from the host’s family and we were invited to join for lunch which was very special and super tasty. The property is a bit out of town but it wasn’t a problem for us as we used Grab taxis and that worked well. Also the local buses are happy to pick you up so easy to get across town if needed.

This is a homestay, one of the best in the area, with basic or above basic facilities (toilet without mechanical flushing, shower, bet with net, electricity 6 PM to 6 AM, fan and in the future air conditioner). You get an amazing reef (fish, turtles, occasional octopus and black tips), 20 minutes walk to the village with shops (beer, sodas, cookies and noodles), great exercusions, all very reasonably priced. Food is ok (rice, vegetables and fresh fish). Overall, I definitely recommend it if you want to have a great experience and not pay resort like prices.
