From the beginning they took us in and treated us as one of their own. We arrived with the sleeper train and Khalid was waiting on Elephantine Island to take us to his house. He showed us our floor in his house and then invited us to breakfast. No need to say it was exceptional, Abir is a wonderful cook. They helped us with everything. We had to wake up early in the morning to go to Abu Simbel and Khalid offered to take us across with his motorboat as the ferry was not working those hours. His wife even prepared us lunchbags. My husband also got sick throughout the voyage and They would continuously come to check if he was okay, and make tea with lemon and herbs. The most hospitable people I have met in Egypt. We also had doubts as to how to travel from Aswan to Luxor while stopping at Kom Ombo and Edfu. Khalid offered to organize a driver for us at a fraction of the minibus or tour prices. And while being transferred from aswan to luxor, he even called the driver to check on us. The kindest people in all Egypt. Big heart, comfortable home with lots of space and very clean. Great food. Loved our stay at Kendaka. We also organised transport and tours which were very good. The owner made you feel very welcome and genuinely like family. The food was excellent. Pictures of the rooms, don't do them justice. The beds are comfy, good size and excellent Aircon. Fantastic location as just a 1 minute walk from the heart of the Nubian Village. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting an authentic, comfortable stay with excellent food.
La Veranda was amazing, they make you feel at home and everyone who works there was friendly and helpful, we had a great conversation with them speaking about Nubian culture, La veranda is quite and you can experience the real life of Nubian village.
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They gave me plenty of recommendations and did not overcharge for water (like many hostels and hotels do). The area felt safe as staff as well as locals from the village would assist if need be.
The hospitality from the host is the best. We had been threatened by a taxi driver in Aswan but the host dealt the problem for us. The host is really helpful and I feel really safe during the stay. N say we are safe during our stay in the Nubian village. It got a good river view from our room n it's nicely decorated. Also this area got the best food among Egypt!
Breakfast is verging on excellent. But large thick slices of vegatables at 8-10 am just isnt my bag & virtually no tourists there liked their cheese: They should change it for less salty version like low salt one. It was by the Nile. Or more or less anyway. Adel the Oman owner picking you up from the station is really useful for any tourist & makes life easier. I like some of the people in Abu Simbel & will one day return to the village.
The person who welcome us was super nice. He invite us to welcome drink and also make us a dinner reservation in the village. He was super interesting and the Nubios area is very authentic and charming place.

The accomontation was clean, comfortable with aircondation, and the kitchen has a big fridge.The lady owner was very helpful, she made us breakfast and dinner and arrange for us a beautiful private boat tour on the Níle.We were at Agha Khan Mauzoleum, Monastry of St.Simeon ( by camel) and Botanic Garden in Kithener's island and we wisited a Nubián village.
very nice hotel, right in the center of aswan, perfectly located, very nice and helpful stuff that helped us in organizing tours at reasonable prices. the overall structure looks a little old, but everything works, you have the feeling to be in a boat on the river nile, you are in the center of aswan and in a private village at the same time. in addition, the restaurant overlooking the nile river is delicious and with a very nice stuff. thanx for everything
Great hotel; it was huge - it was a resort. Lots of rooms, suites and even private villas. Great restaurant and two pools. Room was nice, spacious and quite.
