So many good things. 1) The place is sweet, homey, clean, cozy (burning woodfire when we arrived in the cold afternoon)--a historic old building with modern updates/renovation. Lots of room. Two floors. 2) All the best values of this unique place, Geel, are embodied in the beautiful host Sophie. Our meeting conversation with her was one of the highlights of a month of travels for me, maybe the best moment of the trip. Very kind hosting--hospitality in the most real and deep sense. Plus: Sophie's husband Paul is a legendary cyclist (hence the name, Velo --94 is the year he won the Cyclo-Cross World Championship)--so cyclists, check it out!

The apartament is located in a magnificent property very close to the village. Very comfortable and magnificently decorated, I stayed there for a few days with my daughter and we had a wonderful stay. A special mention for the hosts, Viviane and Ivo, who made us feel at like we were at home.

The old rectory is the hotel in a small village where there is an excellent restaurant. Rooms have high ceilings and tastefully decorated. Safe bike storage in the garden, lovely locally sourced breakfast and a tv which appears from the end of the bed!
Lovely and quiet village location, it appears to be popular for bike rides and walks. The property is ample, clean and comfortable, with large driveway for parking comfortably two cars and a private garden with playground, that was great for the kids. The owners also own/manage a pretty cafe' within walking distance.
The details and care to make you feel relaxed. The super comfy bed,warm decoration, luxurious breakfast, vegetarian request or others where no issue. Andre and Monique want you to experience comfort en enjoy good and pure food, good night sleep, experience the environment and help you to achieve a little break from daily life.
There was no breakfast provided. However, the hosts were absolutely amazing. Very friendly and responsive. The home was immaculate. It was the perfect retreat for us away from the city with all top notch amenities. The indoor pool and sauna were perfect, especially on rainy days. I highly recommend using the hosts catering services…their meats and salads were phenomenal.
Everything was perfect, really clean and well situated. We'd like to emphasize the kindness, hospitality and the helpfulness of the owner Ivo and all his family, ( they made us feel as if we were at home ) We highly recommend it . Vessem is a beautiful small village with really kind people.. The Brouwewery is a really interesting place and they offer a wide and good variety of beers. Many thanks to our hosts for making us feel at home, for the warm hospitality and delicious breakfast. The mansion cottage is perfectly modern and comfortable, while creating a story-worthy setting with charm and personality galore. The yard is private, sunny and quiet, a playground or garden retreat. And the family is lovely, respecting the full privacy of the guests while making us feel very welcome and pampered. An all-round perfect stay.
