Our family of 4 arrived in early January welcomed by Lydia, the host. We had experienced German trains at their worst on the day of arrival, and so ended up arriving at the house over 6 hours behind schedule, and so arrived after 10.30pm on a cold and wet night. Lydia quite happily rode her bike to the house and waited for us with some treats and took her time explaining where everything was, and gave us a whole lot of information about everything we might need. She was very communicative, kind and eager to make our stay pleasant. She even went to the effort of getting information that we were trying to find out relating to train tickets. Her English was excellent which was a bonus for us. The house had a beautiful lit up Christmas tree. It was warm and cosy and very spacious. Beautifully furnished, a well equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom. The tv had streaming services. Beds were very comfortable. The house was spotlessly clean. There’s also a washing machine and dryer and a clothes drying rack. Our family felt very much at home. Lydia has put a lot of love and thought into making this house a delightful and comfortable place. The house is in a great location. It’s in a very quiet street. There’s a large Carrefour supermarket 200metres from the house. Further down (300metres) there’s a great bakery/deli. We were able to walk to the main town very easily. Took around 15 minutes. It’s also very easy getting to the train station. The bus stop is a few metres from the house and it only takes around 10 minutes with the bus to get to the train station. We quite easily took the train to Brussels. We will definitely return and stay longer to explore more of Mechelen and surrounding towns. Thank you for a great stay.

Offering quiet street views, Vélo 94 is an accommodation located in Geel, 35 km from Horst Castle and 40 km from Hasselt Market Square. So many good things. 1) The place is sweet, homey, clean, cozy (burning woodfire when we arrived in the cold afternoon)--a historic old building with modern updates/renovation. Lots of room. Two floors. 2) All the best values of this unique place, Geel, are embodied in the beautiful host Sophie. Our meeting conversation with her was one of the highlights of a month of travels for me, maybe the best moment of the trip. Very kind hosting--hospitality in the most real and deep sense. Plus: Sophie's husband Paul is a legendary cyclist (hence the name, Velo --94 is the year he won the Cyclo-Cross World Championship)--so cyclists, check it out!

Boasting a spa bath, Lusandre is set in Olen. Situated 5 km from Bobbejaanland, the property features free bikes and free private parking. Beautiful home, lovely and clean, well decorated, all mod cons. Loved the big walk in shower. Excellent communication , wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Lovely outside space to dine, didn't use the hot tub, but looked very inviting. Quiet street with parking, felt very safe.

Boasting a spa bath, villa 2be is situated in Balen. There is a spa and wellness centre comprised of a sauna, a hot spring bath and a hot tub. The photos don’t do this house justice. It’s the perfect holiday house. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic. The kids room stocked with toys was wonderful and my kids loved the special kiddie beds.
