If the aim is to have a relaxed get away with privacy and no confusion, and were all details are worked with care and oriented to guests, this is a place to go. The surroundings are beautiful, many villages, restaurants and activities. A lot of historic monuments.

The place was great, with lots of room, the outside was gorgeous, really well looked after with the pool. The host left us some food like bread and wine so all of that was much appreciated. The place was very clean and honestly, we were really sad that we weren't able to stay for longer.

We liked everything about the place but especially the kindness and availability of Sra Luisa and Sr João. They were radiating friendliness and care, our son (1 year old) was jumping in their arms every time he saw them :)
Sefardita, a tastefully refurbished house, is located just couple of minutes away from the castle. Its location is perfect and very convenient. Everything in the house is new and taken care of, the place has plenty of space. The stairs are not as bad as described in other comments (at least for a couple in their late 30s). The only thing I can mention is that the floor downstairs is pretty cold (for children that don't walk yet) and during the night it can get quite cold in the house (it was not an issue for us because days were still hot). The kitchen is equipped with all you need during your stay, even to cook some simple meals, the bedroom is cozy and bigger than it seems from the pictures. The baby cot was kindly provided upon request and was prepared with great care. Moreover, there are maps and guids of nearby places in Alentejo available at the property.
Castelo de Vide is such a beautiful place, I am glad we chose it as our place to stay as I preferred it to Marvão or Portalegre which we visited during the stay. It has restaurants, cafes, bakeries and a few shops. People are friendly and helpful. The attractions are free and the House of Inquisition is really worth visiting (but a bit scary!)

The house was amazing. Six suites, extremely comfortable in the winter. Heat and an amazing fireplace. We travelled with kids and they had an amazing time in first floor playing ping pong. The house is big and can easily accommodate groups. Totally recommend it. There is also a very appealing pool outside for summer stays.

Beautiful interesting village high on a plateau. Little difficulty finding the b&b due to the very narrow cobbled streets. Luckily had last available parking space nearby. Few things missing from our room but owner replaced them. Room immaculate very comfy.
Good breakfast, friendly staff. Good location, right at the center of the village. This was our second stay at this hotel (our first time was in 2017). We plan on coming back to Marvão and specifically to this property.
Our hosts Joaquim and Maria were incredibly attentive and hospitable. Our room was exactly as promised and was ideal for our stay. Parking is right outside. The bed was super comfortable and there was zero noise at night. What a fabulous location - a privilege to stay inside the village walls. You must stay here.
The room is very clean and the location is amazing. We normally stay here when visiting Marvao as it is good value for money. It’s not luxury and the fixture and fittings could be nicer but you get what you pay for. It’s comfortable and the staff is very friendly. We will come back in the future.
I liked the little room a lot, it might not have been spacious but it didn't lake anything and the view was amazing. If you can you should stay for a few days and enjoy the village and the surrounding area
The view from the room and from the hotel is simply amazing. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful village, when you arrive you feel as if you are in the Middle Ages.
The village itself has some excellent restaurants and pubs.
