We really enjoyed the sound of the waves and the variety of things to do eg playing records on an actual gramaphone, a trunk full of children's games, the memorabilia pertaining to the history of the cottage, the well stocked kitchen with utensils, fridge ,freezer and the basic food items like salt, tea, coffee and two very efficient heaters which warmed the interior of the cottage very quickly.

The_Cozy_Batch With a rural view, hotel in Whanganui

The_Cozy_Batch With a rural view is set in Whanganui. The property features inner courtyard and quiet street views. Free WiFi is at guests' disposal throughout the property.

Positioned away from any busy streets, you can be guaranteed a quiet stay. With a rural backdrop, we were greeted with abundance of birdcalls at dusk. But what was surprising were deer walking down the street early evening. Where else would you see that in suburbia? Bach offers a bit of a seventies retro feel with comfortable seating and all the facilities you may need with the bonus of a wood burner, and yes the bed is comfortable.

This is truly character villa and Debby has done a splendid job to preserve the character and experience of living in a villa from a different era. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay here again the next time Im in Whanganui. The self check-in technology Debby is using makes the entire experince from start to finish a breeze - no hassles at all looking for keys in lock boxes or hoping someone is home to let me in.

In general the room was very nice, clean, and about the level of luxury you'd expect that this price. The location was great - but the real star was the amazing spa bath! I would definitely stay again.

lovely old villa. central location. nicely done bedrooms. Debbie is doing a great job in renovating the villa. it’s not a 5 star hotel, but doesn’t pretend to be and the price point is very reasonable.

A wonderful tranquil retreat in a beautiful setting that offered privacy, nature and a library of local literature and history. The Signal Box is beautifully restored with exceptional decor to suit the era. All necessities are catered for, unless you want to watch TV but why would you! Perched close to the nesting birds and with a view that includes glimpses of the river and surrounded by nature. This is a semi-rural retreat that we hope to revisit.

A little gem in and interesting village. This unique old cottage is thoughtfully looked after without making in inconveniently modern. Making in practical and natural.
