It’s a nice clean three bedroom house that is close to everything. We walked to the restaurant. I would stay there again.

Great location right downtown in Franz Josef, it was very easy to get to food, trails, and the wildlife center. Access was simple and the house was very comfortable with a full kitchen and two bedrooms. Perfect for a one night stay on our road trip.

Has a bit of vintage feel to it with wooden cabins. Not that far from Franz Joseph city center (just over 2 kms). Very friendly staff. Great views from the villas. Board Games and Movies (DVDs) available to borrow from reception for the rainy day.
Glenfern Villas are a little village of more recently built ski-style loft villas. The unit we occupied was a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom with a well appointed small kitchenette with table for 4.
The living room had two small sofas and TV with NZ channels.
Nice soap, shampoo and conditioner was provided and they gave us fresh milk for coffee.

The units next to the trampoline have the best view of the snow mountains and stary sky during the night. However if you are lucky to be assigned, as our villas is at the furthest corner facing a wall. No view to mention. Villa 18 please try to avoid if you can change.
Lodge was amazing and semi-private. I think I had the least private of the villas but someone had to have it. I also liked that the hotel catered to all sorts of budgets. Location was great and walking distance to everything in town.
Rainforest retreat was fabulous! The beds were extremely comfortable, lovely bathroom, kitchen and lounge. We thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of the jacuzzi in the treetops. Everything was very special.
We also enjoyed the Monsoon restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
This is honestly the best place I have EVER stayed! The retreat cabins up the back had great privacy and views of the glacier! Room was very luxurious and loved sitting out on the deck taking in the views
