The pictures don't do the home justice. The views over the vineyard are amazing. You're walking distance to the Carrick Vinery where we had a great lunch and tasting. Excellent. A few hundred meters from the bike path.

A great retreat a bit outside town so you can enjoy some peace and quiet. Good for cycling as there is a 150 kilometre rail trail just a few metres from the property.
Fabulous location, is relatively easy to find using GPS and is the cutest little Crib ever! Facilities were ample for a short stay, and the boonus chocolates were such a nice touch :)
The bed was luxuriously comfortable and warm (including an electric blanket) and the shower was also amazing.
Easy access to the Earnscleugh Tailings Track for those wanting to go for a nice run or walk.
We loved the park like grounds and views from the dormer window. The Continental Breakfast provided gave us a good start to our day. Bed was comfortable and we appreciated the pedestal fan that was very necessary with the 30-31 degrees C heat. Location close to village, Countdown and eateries. Friendly hosts.
Hawkdun Rise is located on the outskirts of Alexandra a quaint village with a beautiful river running through the middle. however, Suzanne and John directed us to the historical village of Clyde and later Cromwell enroute to Queenstown. These villages are a must see with excellent restaurants, bars and history aplenty.
The Loft Retreat was very spacious and well equipped. A wide range of teas and coffees was available as was a choice of continental breakfast well presented in glass jars. The grounds and small lake looked awesome but the weather stopped us from exploring this aspect.
