The property was perched on the top of the hill with a gorgeous view of Unawatuna's bay. There was a long verandah outside the "living room" with chairs placed in thoughtful groups along its length. The living room was welcoming and the bedroom very comfortable. There was a pool set below the house which was very pleasant to spend time around. Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent location within quiet neighbourhood but not far from the bustling town. Great place to stay if you want to go on excursions to national parks, whale watching or sightseeing and close to Jungle beach.

Absolutely loved this place. Pond house ginger was the best choice. Spacious bedroom with open bathroom. The varenda facing the pond and the swing was best combo. Pool location was so quiet.

Really nice house, nice balcony and view, nice pool and beautiful garden and dining area. The house is a few kilometers from Unawatuna beach and it is nice to be away from the noise and business and yet still easy to get there with a tuk-tuk. The host Upul and his family are really nice and helpful and han can fix anything. A cooking class with his wife in their kitchen, taxis and tuk-tuks when needed, he arranges tours himself and he is also a good cook. Upul made a really nice new-years dinner with seafood for us and on a rainy day he arranged somebody to bring dinner to the house. Staying at this place feels a bit like staying with friends. We would definitely come back another time.

We loved it! Amanda Beach Villas is a real gem as it is right by a beautiful beach and yet quiet and special. The house is extraordinary in its slightly colonial style. The rooms are luxurious and the view from the bed onto the beach is more than spectacular. But best of all was the friendly staff - always looking after our group of nine, with a lovely breakfast and even a free room upgrade. We would love to stay there again!!
The hotel's prime location with easy access to a beautiful private beach was one of the highlights. We had a room with a private pool, which was bigger than it appeared in the photos and added a luxurious touch to our stay. We stayed in one of the cute private villas which was large with a massive outdoor bathroom. Great beds with mosquito nets. The staff were so helpful, we ordered dinner for the evening which was delicious as was the breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer... Definitely next time.
