The kids squealed with delight as they walked into the room. The climbing wall and swing chair helped get some of that 5 year old energy out in the morning and before bed. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Facilities in the room made the stay super comfortable. And convenience items were available at the front desk.

Clean. Conveniently located, 5 mins walk to Aeon mall and 15 mins to castle and popular streets. We loved the homely feel of the house, though toilets were cold during winters due to it being located at the corners of the house where heating did not reach. Shower room was excellent, new, warm and strong pressure. As others have commented, bedding was on traditional Japanese futon. Hence a little thin for us who are used to spring mattresses. But we packed on additional futons which made it more comfortable. The lady who met us was polite and friendly.

This was the most luxurious place we stayed in japan. The dinner and breakfast were unbelievable - the other hotels we stayed at couldn't compare with the meals here. We were one pescetarian and one vegetarian (notified the hotel in advance) and were extremely impressed by the food. Beautiful location, we stayed in the room with the balcony which was glorious. Would have loved to stay longer
I stayed in a Green Tea themed room, which looked and felt premium. The room was spacious and luxurious.
You get free access to the nearby fitness center with a gym and a swimming pool.
There is a dedicated area for green tea and a library with tons of anime comics.
There are also books about Zen, famous Seiji Ozawa, one of Japan's top orchestra conductors as well as forest and other photography books.
The onsen for ladies has 2 massage chairs.
This was our best stay in Japan! The location is super close to the station. Matsumoto is a cosy village. Staff was super friendly and this was our best onsen experience so far!
The small executive room came with the unexpected benefit of access to the executive lounge for complimentary drinks and nibbles at cocktail hour. Our rooms (perhaps all rooms) also included an optional entirely free excursion to a very luxurious onsen hotel in the hills just outside town. Strongly recommended.
This is not a luxury hotel but rooms are well designed, clean, spacious enough for short stay. The on site onsen is fabulous and location is short walk from train station. Breakfast is included and terrific.
Location is within walking distance to Matsumoto castle and 20m walk from the station. Rooms are clean, well lit and felt luxurious to me with dimmable lights and a big TV. Had a really comfortable stay and staff were good, let me leave my bag the next day and provide nice toiletries.
What a quaint yet luxurious stay. It had the ideal mix of modern and traditional ambience. We would definitely stay here again. Matsumoto is a gem! Chic, modern and the accommodation was everything we wanted. The breakfast was delicious. So centrally located. Spacious rooms with immaculate cleanliness.
Everything was perfect. You know is not a luxury hostel, but it was cute and comfy. Everything was fine and the facilities are greatful. Perfect location to be far to the crowd, close to the nature. The room was really nice, the mattress was really comfy !
