Anri catered to our needs as a big group of travellers- great (perfect) location, short walking distance to the main street of Echoland, restaurants and the shuttle bus stops. Only about 1.2km walking distance (approx 20min) walk in to Happo one, where we could also enjoy the local goods from the convenience of a walk.
Anri was warm and cosy in size, homely and private. It was not too small or cramped for 10 people. Excellent kitchen appliances for cooking, savvy laundry for washing and a dry room that has our wet gear dry in no time! Also a beautiful view when it snows right outside your window.
We were very happy with our stay.
Also to our host, Toyoshi (apologies for spelling!) he was very accommodating in collecting us from Happo bus terminal and dropping us to Anri, on our day of arrival. Very appreciative of our stay at Anri.

Great location just a short 100 walk to the nearest ski lift and near to restaurants, ski shops etc. Lovely well appointed apartment - more space than expected and perfect as snow accommodation. On arrival our hosts collected us from a nearby hotel where the bus dropped us; and there was a daily ride to the supermarket or restaurants if we needed it. Super friendly and helpful hosts.

Beautiful house, we could easily walk to Happo and Echoland areas to eat / drink. Villa close to ski shuttle bus stop (we used bus stop outside Snowlines Lodge). The upstairs 270 degree views are stunning and facilities at the house are amazing (drying room, laundry, kitchen, lounge area). Bedrooms downstairs are good for 4 x people (2br both with bathrooms), and upstairs is a fold out couch if you had a larger group. Next time we’d probably book a car to have easier access to ski fields and other parts of Hakuba just to make life easier, but that was our decision this time round and nothing to do with this awesome property. Santo the owner was wonderful to deal with and helped us out a lot, guarantee I’ll stay here again in the future.

Akamatsu House was fantastic, the house was perfect for 2 families. The house is beautifully built, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. The only thing is the location. It is at least a 15 minute walk to the closest ski shuttle bus - that's if they stop for you or you can get on. And trying to get a Taxi is a nightmare in Hakuba. We ended up cooking many nights at the house as it was so hard to get anywhere. The hosts were awesome as they took us to the supermarket which was so helpful. I would suggest that you really need a car if you stay here. My only suggestion to improve the stay at the house is for the house owner to have a decent expresso machine (They only have an American drip coffee machine) and perhaps have some umbrellas at the house.

The property was in an historic village, the building was an old farm storage building that had been renovated with modern bath room while preserving the vintage handcrafted wood work of the original building. Beautiful! The main door was original an a little drafty, but the one heater unit was more than adequate to heat the entire accomadation- actuall had to turn it off at night as the sleeping loft was extremely warm- very happy with this stay. The flowing brook that runs down the street next to the building- soothing and peaceful...

Warm hospitality by Nao and Kimmi. Beautiful cabin with every luxury and comfortable beds. Amazing 3 course breakfasts that were not only a work of art but delicious too! On-site onsen, all day tea, coffee and chocolates and in easy reach of Echoland restaurants and ski slopes. You simply can't get better than staying at Eternal Flame.
Super clean villas, spacious and well located. Probably easier to rent a car to ski in more areas than wait for bus. Showers were amazing and washer and dryer were life saving. No need to use dryer as in the winter everything dries fast with the snow.
