We had a very pleasant stay! We only stayed here for 1 night because we were on a road trip. We arrived later than expected but everything was fine and communication with the owner was also good. The building is located in a quiet surrounding and a little bit higher on the mountain so it gives you a nice view. The surrounding nature is beautiful. Great location for journeys on cars as it is by a major route if you want to see the golden circle then go to vik the next day, also not far from secret lagoon.

The Askot Cottages offer a truly cozy retreat with all the comforts of home. The cottages are well-equipped, boasting a full kitchen and a convenient washer/dryer combination. What truly sets Askot apart are the hosts – their hospitality goes above and beyond. They even took the extra step of calling us and delivering our forgotten gloves to Reykjavik. A delightful stay with thoughtful touches throughout.
This is a brilliant hotel if your goal is to see the northern lights. It is about 10 miles outside of Hella so there is almost no light pollution nearby. The hotel also has a TV in the lobby area covering the sky so you can see when the northern lights are visible. There is plenty of free parking outside the hotel. The room is functional rather than luxurious, but the bed was comfy and the shower was great.
Such a cosy and beautiful house. It was all nice and warm when we arrived. The bedding was super fresh. The location was beautiful, looking into a river and the village of Hella is so lovely, lots of twinkling lights. The house was also bigger than expected with very good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Amazing value for money, would definitely return.
Everything- clean, homely, cute cabin- luxury style, everything functions and 100% privacy. Host lady was very nice over the messenger. It is truly best place we stayed in around Iceland 🇮🇸 and we are here 2nd time. Thank you Hulda and Kalli
