Both the cottage and its riverside location are absolutely beautiful. It truly is a MAGICAL HIDEAWAY. David and Amy waited for me to arrive and were very supportive and helpful. Staying in the cottage was like stepping back in time. I loved the cosy kitchen with stove, the two authentic upstairs bedrooms and modern, renovated bathroom and shower. The cottage is only a few minutes drive from New Grange. You can walk there along the river bank. I also loved the pink rose-covered stone walls and the window boxes and spring flowers by the river and behind the house. Lock Cottage is very close to Dalys Hotel at Donore and a small supermarket. It is right in the middle of the sacred sites of County Meath and highly recommended for the beauty and peaceful serenity of the surrounding countryside.

Everything was perfect during our stay. Our apartment was super clean! The bed was very comfortable and they even supplied us with tea coffee and all the essentials. Beautiful location nestled in the cute village of Tullyallen, which was very peaceful. All attractions were close by and easy to find via Google maps. There are lots of things to do and see. Would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alma’s retreat. The owner was super friendly and welcoming! The kitchen had fresh milk, breakfast options and a lot of kitchen utensils. The bedrooms and showers were amazing and everything was really clean. We highly recommend you stay here and the next time we are able to come here we will definitely try to stay for a longer period.
We had such a fabulous night at Alma's retreat. My husband, myself and our 2 children stayed. Toni arrived to meet us, with 2 Easter eggs for the children. She also took us to meet her beautiful horses. And the kids played fetch with Davey the dog. The apartment was spotlessly clean. And so spacious. My children couldn't believe they had their own bathroom. We all loved our stay from start to finish. And will most definitely be going back. Thanks for everything Toni. Breakfast was a real highlight, all the cereals, lovely fresh fruit and luxury yogurts. The full Irish was one of the best I've ever had. Our hosts, Peter and Mary were very attentive and gracious.
