Cosy 1 bedroom country lodge with free parking, hotel in Wallingford

Offering a garden and garden view, Cosy 1 bedroom country lodge with free parking is set in Watlington, 43 km from Blenheim Palace and 47 km from Uxbridge.

Visiting friends in next village, this was in a perfect position for me. Friendly hosts, quiet setting. Lodge is directly next to stables housing 2 horses, and host's property set back. Lovely clean lodge with own bathroom and kitchenette. A variety of essentials left for guests, including coffee, milk water, bread and jams, which was a nice touch. Bench and table opposite lodge to eat and drink outdoors. Local pub (2 mins drive away) serves food and farm shop for supplies next door to pub. Thank you, hope to return

17th Century Barn near Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, hotel in Wallingford

Featuring inner courtyard views, 17th Century Barn near Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons provides accommodation with a patio, around 13 km from Notley Abbey.

The location is a great alternative to staying at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons itself and a cheaper option with class and luxury. Every facility was available and the host gave us a little bit of extra time for checkout even though there was guesses checking in after us which was helpful. The Barn itself is huge and the photos are really as it is. If you are dining at Le Manoir you can walk in about 10 minutes and as it was a summer eve it was easy to walk back too, although it is dark without street lights being where it is we used our torches and any cars that went by in this little village were very accommodating in giving us space. We loved the barn and didn’t want to leave

A very interesting modern house with light, spacious rooms. A large, private roof terrace giving views over the garden and countryside made the bedroom a particularly pleasant place to relax. Breakfast was outstanding with top quality ingredients cooked to a high standard. Our hostess Shirley was friendly and charming. She created a warm, welcoming atmosphere which made it very easy to feel 'at home'. The house is located in a quiet village with easy access to many local and regional places of interest.

Shirley was an excellent host who went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The room was incredible, with a terrace perfect for enjoying the sun. Located in a beautiful village with lots to do in the area, and space to relax, this was the perfect getaway to reset and celebrate a birthday. The breakfast was delicious and we were both delighted with the stay. Hoping to come back again!

This is just the place to relax and enjoy without being too far from all the facilities of local towns and the countryside. The cottage was presented to a very high standard and there were many thoughtful extras such as milk, snacks and different drinks. You are very well centred for exploring the area or just being able to relax in a quiet rural retreat!

Lovely staff who were all very welcoming and helpful. The resort is very well maintained and our lodge was really nice and spacious. The food was tasty (especially the chilli chicken panini and the sticky toffee pudding)! The spa was very smart, luxurious with great facilties. Given the time of year, the golf course was in excellent condition too. We would definitely go back.

The rooms at this hotel are beautiful and so comfortable. This was my second time staying here with my husband and once again could not fault the service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was amazing and this time we used the spa which was so relaxing. I also had a back massage which was lovely. The facilities are stunning. It’s the perfect place for a quiet retreat.

Friendly welcome at a busy time for the pub with lots of diners and drinkers from the village. Clearly a recently renovated building, it was very well presented and looked inviting. Breakfast was quick and efficient with a reasonable selection of foods and drinks. Evening meals were well catered for with a good selection on offer. Very good beer selection.
