Cottage on the Croft is a really lovely property, and is excellently located in the centre of Hungerford whilst being very quiet. Jonathan was very good at responding to email queries beforehand (even though he was in Australia at the time of our stay). It was spotlessly clean; the sofa and bed were very comfortable; and the shower was very good. It was a brilliant place to stay to visit family members in Hungerford.

Very comfortable, spacious room in a quiet village near the M4. Very good restaurant food in the bar as well as great breakfast. Staff all very efficient and friendly.
This is not a luxury hotel, but it had everything you could want in a room. The property is historically old, so it's no wonder that it isn't modern and luxurious. I never stay at places like that anyway. The town of Newbury is very cute and has more shopping and stores than you would expect a town of 35,000.
The food at the Ibex was excellent. We had an evening meal as well as breakfast and both were well cooked with fresh ingredients and were delicious. Our bedroom suite was large and luxurious with a very comfortable king size bed.
Burgh Clere is a little ribbon development village near to High Clere House (Downton Abbey fame). Opposite the pub is the extremely moving chapel, devoted to those who fought in the Salonika Campaign. The paintings are superb Stanley Spencer murals. Check its opening times.
The pub is a charming rural place which serves good pub food. Breakfasts are included in the price. Our room was delightful. It was big with a spacious bathroom. The furniture gave it character. It was in a converted country home in the yard of the pub.
Room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff were excellent in their service despite it being busy. Food was good and the pub itself was cosy. Location was a small quiet village about 10 minutes from the nearest town. Suited our requirements exactly.
This hotel is all about the location. It’s a beautiful park, golf course and lake with plenty of walks around and to the castle and village. I stayed in one of the chalets which had a lake view and patio - about 200 yards from the main house.
The overall experience at The Retreat from the amazing grounds to the comfortable room was fantastic. Loved the little touches like lawn games, pantry with snacks, exercise classes and spa facilities.
This is a charming old pub with rooms in a delightful, peaceful village. The room was very spacious and well-equipped. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Our evening meal in the pub and the breakfast were both superb - excellent, home-cooked food. An added bonus was that the room was dog friendly and the pleasant local people in the bar were very helpful in suggesting local walks. We only stayed one night but would certainly stay again if in the area.
