Lovely the garden room. It is well furnished, cosy atmosphere like a home away from home. Cosy slippers, nespresso machine and high quality finish. Garden area is gorgeous with lots of flowers and space for our dog to explore and wonder. Strawberries were delicious and family of dogs make the stay homely and enjoyable. Very knowledgeable hosts. All round a perfect getaway. Thank you.

A beautiful 18th century mansion with a lot of character. Perfect gym and spa facilities, very friendly staff. I had a glass of wine in the garden and loved the peace and quiet. The restaurant was simply fabulous, an elegant dining experience. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious. A dog-friendly place at last!

This retreat center is a hidden gem, the name is very appropriate because they offer an alchemy of treatments which nourish one's sense of well being. The interior is exquisite and also peaceful, and the garden is beautiful. I would recommend anyone staying, but stay longer than one night to enjoy the full effect of what they offer which you will not know about until you book the place. They will cook you dinner if you let them know your food needs in advance.

This was most definitely a 5* self catering. Absolutely beautiful grounds, all the suites were to a very high standard with glamourous bathrooms and very comfortable beds, gorgeous artwork and fresh flowers in every room. The welcome basket had local items such as eggs and strawberries along with the basics such as coffee and milk. Even provided a homemade bread. All these luxury touches make this a very special place. Very great care taken of everything and of us.

After a 5 1/2 hour drive, Thainstone house really didn't disappoint. It's a beautiful house with an elegant interior. Wonderful staff that are both polite and professional, for whom nothing is to much trouble. Excellent food prepared fresh and served in a dining room that can only described as luxurious. A fantastic place to spend a few day away.

We played some snooker In the games room before retiring for the evening. The place is a wonderful peace of history and the decor is marvellous, a big drawing room with an open fire to relax next to can't rate the place enough, we had a wonderful stay here and will definitely be back.

Location was very good, next to any amenities that we may of needed. We were visiting friends, the town was as expected with a few pubs and places to eat if required. We also decided to visit a couple of places nearby and they were also nice towns and villages.
