Rose cottage was very cosy, with a lovely homely feeling. The kitchen was well equipped, and the lounge diner a great social space with comfortable sofas.
The beds are very comfortable with quality linens. The outdide space is lovely and the area is very quiet and well positioned for touring the area. The welcome basket was great, with essentials like bread and milk, wine and biscuits.

Lovely property. But in the end, it was the rules for dogs that scuppered our stay. Our 2 year old daschund just couldn't have coped without crying or barking, which is also not allowed. See the rules in an attached photo below. Dog owners please read carefully!
Having said that, the location, condition, and space were all excellent. We were sad that it didn't work for us.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience, location is perfect, situated near Gunwarf quays, close to the train station, bus stop is right in front, restaurant and bar is 2mins away, the city centre is 11mins walk, making it easy to explore the city. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-appointed with comfortable bed, modern amenities, great view. I also appreciated the free Wi-Fi and hot water. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Portsmouth.

The Anglesey Hotel is in a perfect location for anyone visiting Alverstoke Village or the seafront. It is at the end of a striking road of white-painted buildings with lovely pillars. The staff are really nice and try to please. Breakfast is good for the price. I had a lovely sea view from my room. I have added some negative comments, but for the right price and if you want to visit Alverstoke I would recommend a stay, knowing its faults.
Location was great. Short walk to the Gosport ferry to Portsmouth. The rooms were luxurious - the bed was so comfy I didn't want to get up! We had a tea and coffee machine, towelling robe, slippers, towels and toiletries. Room was nicely fitted out, clean and cosy. Great view too. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Gorgeous old mansion with lovely garden and views of the Solent. Large, comfortable room. Easy parking. Just across from beach. Welcoming and efficient team of young staff. The restaurant was busy with non staying guests which gave it a real buzz on arrival. Good bar.
The Old Lodge was easy to find and in a great location adjacent to Alverstoke village. The staff were extremely friendly, making guests feel very relaxed.

We had a car but not sure how you would go without one. Easy walk into a lovely village for pubs, supermarket and a couple of cafes.
Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy a drink from the bar.
At hosts recommendation we went to pebbles on the beach. Food was sensational here and live music was on.
The quick witted hostess made us feel relaxed from the very beginning. Good breakfast, nice guarden , quiet surroundings and still close to a village with a shop an a chinese restaurant. Also the Solent Shore is within walking distanse and the Gosport Golf Club ( or 3 min drive if you prefer).
