Ty Nant Cottages and Suites, hotel in Faringdon

Situated in Alvescot in the Oxfordshire region, Ty Nant Cottages and Suites offers self-catering accommodation in Cotswold stone farm buildings dating back to the 1700s.

We booked the property last minute and just needed somewhere to sleep for one night. The hayloft was just perfect for us. It has a small kitchen which had everything in it that we needed. We ate out but had we stayed in and cooked, it had a good selection of crockery and utensils. The sleeping area had 2 comfortable chairs and the Velux windows allowed lots of air in. The garden area was cozy with a few tables and chairs. The host was extremely helpful with clear instructions on how to find the place and good ideas of places to visit and eat.

This is an unusual gem of a place. Spotlessly clean, with excellent staff and service. The curry I had for dinner was one of the best I have had. The location was ideal for me as visiting relatives near by, and in the middle of Oxfordshire with fabulous countryside around. We went for a walk and once clear of the main road found a walk through a picture perfect English village and field of wheat ready to harvest.

The rooms were luxurious and very well appointed, air conditioning ,smart tv , wonderful comfortable bed and a stunning en-suite. The restaurant is Indian and Pan Asian inspired, the Indian meal we had was honestly the best Indian meal we’ve ever had and to top it off there was a choice of English breakfast or traditional Indian breakfast 😊 we had the Indian breakfast and again it was amazing 🤩

Breakfast was very good. Yoghurt would have been nice as well. Comfy bed. Lovely little village, close to several natural attractions. Good walk in shower but a proper shelf is needed in the bathroom instead of that plastic surround.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Trout. Rooms are very cosy and food was just exceptional. Breakfasts are excellent and there’s plenty to choose from. Perfect place if you are looking for a quiet and cosy stay with great food. Also a plus that it’s only short distance away from all the prettiest Cotswolds villages
