I can't begin to describe how amazing this place is. From the communication before arrival to the actual stay itself, everything was perfect. The hosts are so friendly; we were given a lovely tour including the troglodytic caves and an explanation of the history of the site. It's FASCINATING! We were even told to help ourselves to the delicious fresh herbs growing in their garden and to use their washing line, if we needed. The gite itself was immaculately clean and well though-out. The bed was soooo comfortable and there was even a window looking into one of the cellars, complete with original wine-making machinery. The pool is a real highlight; heated, big enough (and deep enough) to properly swim in and with a toilet, shower and changing room. A perfect spot to laze around in the sun!
The area is beautiful with a huge number of things to do. Gorgeous Saumur is only 10-15 minutes away and has everything you could need including some great restaurants.
We are very much planning a return trip to En Rou Libre. There are lots of things in the area we still want to do and we have never stayed in such a perfect place. Thank-you to the family for such a wonderful holiday!

Beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a perfect location to access the town without having to drive (2 mins walk!)… feels very welcoming and super homely yet luxurious. And a delicious breakfast - local produce / organic etc. Would love to stay again.
The accommodation is on two floors, with the toilet & bathroom on the ground floor. The outside patio seating area is private. Everywhere inside is spotlessly clean. It's a 5 minute drive into town to get to the supermarket. The most important advice is to be sure you visit the caves & wine tasting on offer in the local village.
Nice little holiday village with a decent restaurant and fabulous views. My room was clean and functional and had a very comfortable bed with great pillows and aircon. However, it was the lovely staff who made it such a pleasure to stay there. They were friendly and helpful and incredibly kind when my car broke down (terminally!) and I was very stressed about trying to get home without it. I hope very much to come back and stay again.
Beautiful House with lovely Garden and pool. Would recommend if you like luxury and seclusion. The couple who own and host the property are exceptionally attentive.
Superbly renovated mansion house in Saumur, just 5 minutes walk to the riverside and town square, which was lively and full of cafes/restaurants open all day and night. Great to have a swimming pool and area to relax onsite. Nice grounds with ability to eat/drink outside at your own leisure.

A wonderful surprise awaited us at this beautiful old house transformed into a peaceful luxurious retreat. We so much enjoyed our stay and will return again ASAP. We had a large airy bright room overlooking 'La Loire' with a generous window that opened up a view to savour the delights before our eyes. 💞 A lovely stroll to the center where we shopped, ate & drank😍
