We really felt at home at Sonia's place. She gave us a great welcome and tour. You can tell she sees her property and her service as a reflection of herself. The house was warm and comfortable when we arrived, which is much appreciated.
The house and property had plenty of space, a place for everyone in our family of seven. Everything was quite clean and neat. The kitchen was very well outfitted.
Even though it was cool and wet for much of our time, we were still able to enjoy the backyard and barbecue. The outdoor space would be a great place in the warmer months.
The location is good, close to a bus stop but just far enough away from the center of town to be quite peaceful. A good bakery and other shops (including a chocolatier) are within a reasonable walk; supermarkets are a little further than I like but still very walkable. There is a walled public greenspace with a playground and soccer goals just east of the property. And it's an easy hike up to the top of the cliff overlooking the town, even with a stroller; it makes for a good afternoon walk for the whole family.
Ornans is a pretty town; the way it is situated along the river just makes you want to stop on the footbridge and take it all in as the water sweeps past below.
From the layout, decor and location to the amenities and service, this house just feels good. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended.

Staff on reception were lovely. Very helpful in assisting us with all our questions. The rooms were spotless and beds comfortable. Parking at property was fully booked but there was an easy parking option around the corner which was very close to the hotel which was free from 7pm until 9am. There was a little shop 20m from the hotel entrance which was very convenient. It was a short walking distance to the centre of the village. Breakfast was good not a lot of options but typical for France.
This is a basic hotel very near to the station which is why we stayed as we needed to catch a train very early in the morning. Its basic, so if you are seeking luxury look elsewhere. The staff were very helpful the showers and toilet were clean as one would expect. There are some decent cafes nearby and the main town is only a short walk away
We arrived very late, 02:00 am in the morning, but still had a good parking space and very friendly staff at the reception desk. Room was spacious, clean, good beds, very quiet. The hotel is in a secluded area, surrounded by villas. Next morning, very good breakfast buffet. If it had't been so chilly and raining the night before, we would have used the pool too. All in all, a great stopover hotel.
