the setting is beautiful with an open terrace in the middle of the old town from which you can see the oasis and the old fortress, it is not a luxurious place but I think it is good value, the staff is nice, breakfast was good and the location is convenient

Nice family administrated hotel around 1 km west of the village centre. You can walk in 10 mins or take a ride by tuk-tuk or driver. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing.

This is an authentic mud brick home, so don’t expect luxury and bring your own toiletries. However, I found the bed comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was fabulous and Abdul was unfailingly kind and helpful. I found it excellent value for money and would stay there again.

Magical place in the historical part of town. Excellent service from Ahmel (including delicious breakfast!), he truly made my stay so much better. Don't go there if you expect luxury rooms, they are typical Siwan-style. But do go there if you want an authentic experience, amazing views from the rooftop, and the proper Egyptian hospitality. Great tours organized by the owner at a very reasonable price too.

The property is located in a typical Egyptian village - unmade roads, partially finished houses. Once inside, it is an oasis of calm, hospitality and kindness. Hot water, electricity, wifi, comfy beds, great home made food and after the chaos of Cairo & Alexandria, beautifully quiet. How the hosts managed to establish this in an area 300 miles from civilization is amazing. Getting around is easy, the host organized a driver who took me everywhere I wanted to go.
