Our stay in Garmisch was amazing, starting with our arrival at the chalet where Michael met us with the keys, opened the garage door for us upon arrival, and even had a Christmas tree put up and a fire in the fireplace when we walked in. He showed us around the amazing modern property (yes the theater and sauna are real), explaining how everything worked and left us his cell number in case we had any questions during our 5- day stay. When we did text him with questions, he always responded within just a few minutes. He gave us a wonderful recommendation for the best Italian restaurant in town that was a 5-minute walk from the chalet, as well as ideas for things to do in the area based on the upcoming weather for the week. The home itself is in a quiet area, but within a block of the train station. Venues we visited within a 5-minute walk are the Italian restaurant (Renzo...phenomenal), an Irish pub, and a bakery for morning pastries. The downtown shopping area is also within walking distance, but probably a 15 minute walk. We drove it, however, and parking was plentiful even during the Christmas market season. We travel a lot, both stateside and overseas, and this was probably our best experience ever when combining both the property and the host. Upon departure, Michael again met us at the property to pick up the keys and ask us about our week, bringing us a farewell gift of German pretzels from the bakery.

The owner was very responsive and gave us detailed information on accessing the keys for entry. The house had all the amenities we needed and comfortably fit our family including a baby. The location was very convenient. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. We were able to park our car in the driveway. Checkout was easy - leaving keys and city tax for owner. We would stay again.

Beautiful and comfy. Has great open living room, kitchen area that invites hanging out with friends and family. The location is very desirable as it is less than 5 minutes walk from town. The designated parking makes it ideal. We would absolutely stay here again.

The apartment was well set up - down to a couple of bottles of complimentary beer. It was a short walk to the centre of the village and to the Rewe supermarket. The wee kitchenette had everything reasonably required. The bed was comfortable, the Luftmalerei ceiling being a cute added touch. Karen looked after us at two dinners at Bellini's - her green peppercorn steak being the best we have ever had.
Perfectly located in the village, quiet side street and 3 minutes walk into the centre. Room was small but well equipped and very clean. Staff very friendly.
Karin was a wonderful host. Our room in Haus Schweigart was wonderful. It had lots of windows we could open and enjoy the views, the patio was a great place to enjoy the morning coffee or evening drink. The apartment was VERY clean, well organized, spacious and just overall wonderful. Walkable to everything in the village.
Karin and her husband also own a wonderful Italian restaurant, Bellini, that is walking distance from the apartment. We enjoyed it very much. Truly one of the best italian meals we have ever had.
The view from the balcony of the Granat suite, full on of the Karwendal mountains overlooking the fairy tale town was a traveler's dream. There in shoulder season so no tourist crowds though some venues not open, like the Karwendalbahn. But the peace and beauty of the Bavarian village all the more palpable.
