The hotel is located in the city of Magdeburg and has a convenient parking garage just beneath it. The hotel has a very "large and luxurious" feel about it, but in January we felt we were almost the only guests around. The suite room was very large and we found a bottle of wine, fruit and water in the room upon arrival. Friendly housekeeping staff.
Hotel in a villa area in Magdeburg. The nice lady at the reception showed us where we could store our bikes (in the garage). We had two identical small rooms, quite cosy. The beds were just hard enough. Breakfast was quite standard - with a choice of cold and hot food. If you are travelling by bike - perfect place to stop in Magdeburg, the city centre is on your doorstep.
Considering that I have some expectations regarding a luxury brand there is not a lot of good things to say. The way to the central station is really short. The beds were fine.
Residenz Joop is located in a beautiful villa area, at walking distance from the center of Magdeburg. We were travelling with our dog and made a pre-arrangement with the hotel to take our four-legged friend with us, which was absolutely no problem. Public parking in the streets near the hotel was generally not a problem (however, don´t forget the mandatory green badge for the applicable low emission zone). We would highly recommend Residenz Joop for a stay in Magdeburg.
Good value for the money. Friendly staff, easy parking, uncomplicated. Good quality bed. Perfect for a pragmatic stay when you don't need luxury, but do need a clean, quiet place to sleep.
