We used this place as a stop off between Cahuita and San Jose. It sleeps 7 and offered tv and Wifi so met our needs.
It’s not a pretty place inside, but it had a lovely dining table outside amongst nature, and enough kitchen stuff to make a meal. It was good value for the price we paid, but also ‘you get what you pay for’ holds true.

Absolutely stunning & Vivi (the host) made the whole stay even better. The apartment is already Wow! with the view - honestly worth the stay just for it. You can have breakfast, relax, work remotely & even go to the bathroom admiring the view! But having Vivi as the host exceeded my expectations - she treated us like friends, she was absolutely amazing with helping us getting to the place and getting us some food. She was very attentive to us and sooooo friendly, it was great chatting with her as well.
I will definitely come back!

Cute little house close to Irazu Volcano National Park. It's a little old fashioned but had a well equipped kitchen. A good option for an early start at the volcano. Make sure you book entrance tickets to the volcano online in advance - they are not available on the gate.

Beautiful old building, well maintained and transformed to host a small number of guests. The garden and the view from it are amazing (Turialba volcano, village of Aquiares, valley). The host and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is authentic, delicious and freshly prepared, and it was served in the garden. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean.
