The view is AMAZING, the cabin is well equipped and very well desinged. It truly is paradise up there. Make sure to go out at night to see the stars and the lights of the village down the valley. The host is nice and made sure we were comfortable even tough the village lost power during the night. Don’t hesitate for a minute and book, just bring warm clothes and start a fire to make sure to sleep comfortably because it gets cold at night. We had a wonderful time!

The most welcoming and friendly host we ever met in Costa Rica by traveling here for 1 month! He tried to help us on every step, gave advises etc. Helping was very sincere. We really enjoyed our stay, made fire, looked in the stars and grilled meat. Leaving, we were given presents - fruits from host's local garden 😊 We are thankful, restful and now also fruit-full 😄 Highly recommended. Be ready that there is little bit steep road to access home (we had SUV without 4x4, was ok)

The house is perch on top of a high point and if the clouds stay away for a while the views from coast to forest are overwhelming. It's very quiet at night and fireflies come out en mass. The house itself is perfect with great beds and plenty of space. All the facilities are there and sitting outside watching the hummingbirds is a wonderful experience. The garden is great, but do venture beyond that. You can make use of the friendly caretaker to guide you, but we went out for hikes on our own and the trails can be done solo. Some trails are steep though so take a stick of some sort if you are descending. our host Jan helped us with some maps and GPS files for the trails. Really helpful and pleasant people! I wish we could have stayed longer, because we weren't done exploring the Refugio when we left.
